Had a screen protector on my I phone 4 since new. It was really scruffy. So thought best change it! It has been on since I got it on release day!!!

And wow, it's like a new phone. Can't believe how clear the screen is!!!

Note to self, much change more often.

Yeah, pretty much. The old problem with mobile phone screens getting marked and iPAQs/Palm/SPVs etc getting scratched screens due to the Stylus are virtually gone. Biggest problem I have is fingerprints!

About the only thing that's going to damage the screen is you doing something daft like dropping it or sitting on it.

By all means use a protective bumper case or the like, but overpriced sticky back plastic is pointless.

Did the iPhone 3G have Gorilla Glass? I didn't screen protect that and I don't know how it got the scratch on the screen that it did! I have one on my 4 now. Hope to take it off because I don't like it on really.

Not a fan of screen protectors on the iPhone. It's a device that's all about touch and anything on the screen will reduce the pleasure if you know what I mean (titter). I keep on thinking about the people from my childhood who would buy a new car and pay extra for the velour seats and keep the plastic covers on them indefinitely, just in case they get marked.

I don't have one on my iphone, and its got one/2 small nicks on it. otherwise its spotless, the glass they use now is soo stong and resistant having a cover really isn't needed.

You can order bulk screen protectors for like £2.00 now. I just purchase lots of them and replace when needed.

Dare you to put your keys in your pocket with them ;)

Wish I had invested in a protector, mine's scratched to buggery back and front, tempting to buy replacement glass. Keys in same pocket = baaaaaaaaaaad.

The iPhone is the "slickest" phone in the world, put it on anything other than a perfectly flat service and it always falls on the floor.

Dropped mine a few times now, been impressed it hasn't died.

As for the greasy fingerprints I find breath and a sleeve sort that out ;)

Decent screen protectors shouldn't get scratched, because you're buying cheap ones they'll scratch up just from the lining of your pocket.

Come on the screen protectors cost 10p each, and has lasted a year.

I am a window cleaner, money in and out of pockets, keys, remote controls, etc etc

Why so much hate over a screen protector
