Fitting a Nest-heat link control to Ideal Logic plus 35 boiler

Hello

Just curious if I need a harness for my set up?
Boiler - Ideal Combi Logic 30 Plus

I’ve moved to new home and can’t mind the set up as before.

Here’s the pictures of the wiring now that I used before in old boiler in previous apartment .

I just want to keep it simple. 2 wires go where?

The harness is a waste of money. Use two crimp on female spade connectors. Give them a bit of a push and they'll fit. There's little risk of short circuiting, and even if it somehow happened, the opentherm isn't a mains level connection so I doubt anything disastrous would happen. Also worth noting the opentherm connections are not polarity sensitive so you can wire them anyway you like. Just remember to unplug the timer, push the connector through into the boiler, and connect that up with the loose connector closeby as shown at: https://idealboilers.com/uploads/documents/installation-servicing-opentherm-harness-kit.pdf

I think the only reason they sell a separate harness kit is to prevent installers hooking up mains to the opentherm connector, so they only buy it if they have a clue what opentherm is.

Hi :)

I'm trying to fit a Nest-heat link control to my Ideal Logic plus 35 boiler. It should not be hard but I'm confused about the 'call for heat' wire! Yes, I know I should call a professional and may do, but first want to see if I could do it... No harm in just asking :)

The picture below is that of my current wiring with what I think needs to be done. Is this correct? Also if so, the main thermostat can this be replaced where does it get the 12v from on that as this looks like it sends 230v back to that?

Many thanks in advance :)

Ok so it’s a new house when arrived

found fuse sour from dis board
1.. Fuse sour I got a 5 core cable going to boiler
And another cable 3 core and earth going over to thermostat on the other side of the wall
2.. in boiler live neutral and earth connected black cable going to room stat and grey in connecter block
so I have now run another 5 core to the heat link but he wants the best thermostat hard wired can we use the 3 core and earth still from the fused spur ?
