i think enlarged lungs is more plausible/possible (on science/genetic level) like that dude who can ride long distance on bike Louis armstrong iirc.

Lance Armstrong does produce much less lactic acid than average and gets rid of it faster. He also has an enlarged heart and lungs, which give him a VO2 max of 85 or something.

For real? that's good, Ive only read about the enlarged lungs capacity of his. Gonna check it up later. If that's the case, they dude should be stripped of his tittle - He's a mutant competing in a Human competition!

I believe Lance Armstrong also has a resting heart rate of 32  where mine is 95

Miguel Indurain used to have a resting heart rate of about 29bpm and a lung capacity of 8 litres(Matthew Pinsent's is about the same if memory serves) but all rather scary how fit some of these guys are. Some of Big Mig's statistics here but that doesn't tell you quite how far ahead he was when he took Greg LeMond(the reigning champion) on Le Tourmalet and sped past him like he wasn't moving before winning 5 consecutive Tours and was the first man to do so.

put him in a bunny suit and make him advertise those energiser batteries :)

sounds like a career for the guy

then he would probably collapse after like an hour.

His mother sold him?

Yeh i would imagine things over there are quite hard for them financial wise. So selling kids is a great way for them to make some money i suppose....when i have kids ill contemplate selling them to see how much they are worth:p

thats quite good, but how fast are olimpic people at this sort of thing?

An olympic marathon runner can do 26.2 miles in 2hr 7 min which is 4.84 minute miling.

This lad ran 40.3 miles in 7 hours which is 10.42 minute miling.
I've ran 8 marathons and I'm a 10 minute miler for the first 13 miles and then I slow down. He would probably come past me at about 20 miles.

His legs are about a quarter the size of an olympic runners and his stride will be about a quarter of an olympic runners meaning he's put way more strides in than the olympic runner.

Pound for pound this lad owns them.

yeah, I wanted the speeds just to get an idea of the kinda speeds we're talking about, when I was at school (didn't run cos I've a week leg bone that brakes when I run), all the races where won by a kid who was canadian (sp pls) who had legs that where about 4ft long or summit.

I expect nike will buy him or summit

The kids 5 years old, you’re telling me he knew how to do a full fitness routine inherently? Don’t be silly.

You’re taught how to train yourself to become physically fit, hence my comment. Where as it may seem logical to us to lift weights if we want to improve our general muscle tone ect, a 5 year old boy is not going to know this. Couple that with the fact that this child had an alarmingly good ability to run distances beyond that of an average adult male to begin with, its not illogical to assume his body has a genetic predisposition to this type of activity beyond that of Jo average male.
You missed my point i think; This kid obviously hasnt been training long, due to the fact hes five and has only been walking about 4 years anyway, let alone running, let alone running long distances. So its completely ilogical to assume hes actualy trained to get to this sort of physical fitness. He's inherited it geneticaly, a freak if you will.

I think you missed his point, he said the exact same as you just did to begin with.

the point about natural fitness or genetics is a good one i have a freind who was the year below me at school . he was that good at cross country at school he used to win his year every time by a big margin, the teacher would keep him back to race my year which he would win as well . so every time we did cross country he did two races so he had a real talent . my point is as we now aproach forty dare i say it and he really is a couch potato now does absolutely nothing he still has a resting heart beat in the low forties
