I have never heard of that. Got a source?
Nothing I can do though.
If I need a tyre that size then I need a tyre that size.

Those guys seem to be mentioned on mx5nutz quite a bit for alignment, dont know how close you are to them though
how the hell do you get 11 years out of a set of tyres
does the car even get used?![]()
Seems like a horrible tyre size in terms of price / selection
Nope i didn't on either. Probably should have on at least one
Where do you actually live as there are loads of alignment places that know mx5's all over the country
I recently fitted a set of Uniroyal RainExperts to my MX5 in 185/60/14 size - and they're excellent, especially in the wet.
£37ish each from Camskill, plus fitting obviously.
As for alignment, ensure that the place doing it does corner weighting, and I'd recommend getting hold of a full set of alignment bolts, as a few of mine were seized in place and ended up snapping. I've MSN'd you some info![]()
Is it OK to drive the car for circa 100 miles with new tyres but without the alignment being done?
My current tyres are fubared and need swapping ASAP. However, the local garage that fits blackcircles tyres had little idea about full alignment. I want to take it somewhere decent to get new tyres then drive it to the good alignment place. I do not want to damage my new tyres. The car does not full left or right under hard braking and the current tyres seem to be wearing evenly, but the steering wheel is not quite straight.
Alternatively I can drive to the alignment place as the also do tyres, but that means driving 50-80 miles on shagged tyres (tread fine, just perished and one tyre leaks from rim) but I did nail it over 100 miles on them before I realised just how old and buggered they were.
