I'm thinking of going to kingston uni, and i would like to know if its a nice place. plus is it a good place for going out? any chavs around? thefts?
Depends what course and campus I guess - Kingston Hill or Penrhryn Road are both great (though Penrhyn Road still needs doing up). If you're going to live in halls do nottt live anywhere, but Kingston Hill. If you must live in another halls then Seething Wells is the only one that you wont regret living in, but even then you'll be spending most your time bussing it up to Kingston Hill.
If you're wanting to do law @ Kingston then it's a great uni (that's what I'm doing) - really practical and the lecturers are actually still interested in the subject.
If you're wanting to do computing (just guessing as you're on this forum) then I've heard of some people getting a little bit miffed at some lecturers being utter idiots, but then there's also some lecturers that people love.
Nightlife you have a couple of main options: Works, Oceana, McCluskys, go into London. There's a night bus back to Kingston from London. Works is good up until Christmas each year, but only on student nights, whilst Oceana is packed every night, but plays crap music and is chavland.
Thefts, AFAIK Kingston's a very safe place generally. It's got a visible police force at night, but it never gets rough (generally very good atmosphere) and there's a Hospital on the way up Kingston Hill.
For me, what I love is having London so close - spent lots of time popping into London for all sorts of things. Kingston itself has lots to do, lots of green areas and, lots of pubs by the river to drink at on nice summer days.
I'm just about to go into my third year and I'm loving it at Kingston - would recommend it to anyone.
EDIT: If you do go to Kingston you owe me a drink - this post took far to long to type.
