flash for iPhone?

MS will never have a competitive device until they stop shoving facelifts on top of the same old rubbish, unresponsive kernel.

This is the mistake all manufacturers make when trying to produce an iPod/iPhone killer, they think its all about features and that by adding more and more features it somehow makes up for a poor user experience.

Good point but surely Apple could put the nail in the coffin by adding more features through software updates etc? If the iPhone has the features and it's superb interface then surely it would be untouchable?

Why waste the money on R&D when they will sell out with the flawed products?

Problem is this, Blackberry are NOT promoting this Storm as a iPhone killer, the public will manage to do that for them as it stands.
iSam is right in saying that Apple can do a firmware update and bring lots of these features like keyboard feel feedback/MMS/Flash etc, i believe Apple are dragging their feet and like someone has already mentioned that would put the nail in the coffin and would therefore make the iPhone the best there is full stop.

I'm not sure they would sell out, as the story goes news has it Apple have asked for a reduction in iPhone production. Maybe word is out it's not the best there is, if only they'd have pulled their fingers out quicker and made the flawed firmware for the 3G fiasco better in the first instance they may not have had to reduce the production.

Flash for iPhone? Nah, that would involve Apple adding features that people actually want. They're not going to do that, instead they'll add something rubbish and useless.

Even if it had a proper xenon flash on it I still wouldn't use it, the iphone camera is rubbish full stop. Its everything else it does so well. If I was buying a phone wanting to use its camera then the iPhone would be well down the list.

Pretty sure you have got your wires crossed. This thread is about Flash Application not Camera Flash.

Blackberrys fit a different market and to be honest Apple have got a long way to go before the iPhone competes with it from a business-usage perspective, the fact it now has Exchange support is a good start but there are still hundreds of missing features that Blackberrys provide as standard.

Adobe Flash not camera flash. :)

Exactly. It's the interface + iPod functionality.

Hundreds of features missing compared to the iphone??

Well, "hundreds" is probably an exaggeration looking back - but how's this for starters: No Out of Office Assistant control, no mail searching, no over-the-air syncing, no copy-and-paste (still). I own an iPhone and have had to use & configure Blackberrys at work - so I don't think I'm biased about it :)

Hadn't thought of a couple of those :)

No over-the-air syncing? Not quite sure what you mean by this. I can sync via activesync to my exchange server or are you meaning something else?

Apparently cut and paste will be in 2.2 but who knows!

Other way around, iPhone is the one with the missing features - not the Blackberry.

The iPhone may have more features than the iPhone but I am willing to bet that the iPhone keeps its crown and is the easier to use.

Other companies marketing strategies seem to be make a touch screen phone and jam as many features in it as then can so it magically becomes an iPhone beater. The exact same strategy as MP3 makers. An MP3 player that has more features than the iPod must be better, right?

Both the iPod and the iPhone (remember it is still an iPod) are about ease of use + iTunes integration.
