Flashforward

I've really enjoyed Eps 1 and 2.

I really don't think this will go the same way as lost. ABC Studios have realised the public reaction from last time. ABC asked the writers before they commissioned the 1st series, "Have you got and ending?"

The writers replied, "Yeh, we have the beginning and ending already wrote. We are just writing the story in between."

I don't think ABC would have comissioned it after Lost without a structure.
 
It is looking pretty good so far.

The very start of the first episode reminded me of the epic kind of feeling of lost. I really hope the show is as good as I am hoping it will be, recently I have been running out of TV that I think is "amazing".

I'm pretty sure lost had an ending in plan from the beginning. The problem was that after it's success the studio asked them to extend it out from the originally planned number of series.
 
Still not too sure about this tbh, seems kinda similar to other programmes
really good narrative imo
will probably keep watching it for the sake of it
 
Just finishing up the second episode. Bits of it are horribly overacted. The concept is good, but it's still touch and go.
 
I bet it turns out that it's in the same Lost universe and that the blackout happened when Desmond didnt hit the button.
 
i got a bit lost with the story in episode 2 ,can someone explain to me who the lady was with the cakes ?

i take it she was d gibbons , but she came foward thinking she was in some kind of trouble?

was d gibbons the bloke in the doll factory or is it to early to tell?

her name was in one of the guys flash forwards and i dont think she flashforward as she was on the phone to that guy in the football stadium that was awake too.. (i think)

No, her flashforward was of being on the phone to possibly the credit card company discussing why several payments had been made at same time in completely different locations.

What I am not sure about is how everyone's FF is caused by them knowing about their FF. If the main character had not seen the names during his FF, would he then have been able to investigate those names, leading to them being put on the board. If D Gibbons (cake woman) hadn't seen her FF, she wouldn't know the agents names to then go and see them.

The flashforward to the future takes account of the flashforward. It's basically a time-travel mechanic. In this version of time-travel the effects of time travel are instantaneous, so as soon as you travel into the future, your future is affected by your having travelled to the future at some point in the past.
 
Quite liking it so far...all you nit pickers need to take a chill pill and a suspend reality potion :)

Here's my prediction based on 2 eps... the FBI woman who saw herself having an ultrasound scan is going to get pregnant by Hoe or whatever the asian FBI dudes name is. I'm v confident on that one...he ditches his fiancee because he is convinced he is going to die and she's a shoulder to cry on yadda yadda.

My other theory is less sound... the woman who told him he's going to be murdered is his mum - ha ha!

I will be watching next week thats for sure!

I thought exactly the same thing.

Liking this so far, isn't drawing me in as much as Lost did, but Lost's opening will be hard to beat

Haha, I think these shows are slightly dummed down for American audiences to grasp. At least the intent is obvious from subtle undertones, I think.

The Korean guy and Preggo McPregster deffinatley hook up by the feel of things...

Also, another obvious prediction during the ep; When the local sheriff woman said "I didn't have a FF", who guessed she would be biting the dust within about 5 minutes? Slap in the face with a wet kipper, blindingly obvious yet again on that one :)

From what I understand of it, the dude who was cloning Muff Ladys card (D Gibbons) uses or is known by the alias "D Gibbons" at least? As this is where they traced the card cloning too and the little girl mentions, again I assume, HIM being a bad man.

Quite good and worth watching still so far, looking forward to next week!
 
Knujbe, you hit the nail on the head there, with the dumbed down. It was like we were being lead by the hand to make a conclusion. Very heavy handed direction I think, more subtle in future please. Saying that it could be a double bluff - the Noh and lady scenario, not the dead sherriff.

Well I'm liking the lack of subtlety. There's been more story exposition in two episodes than in an entire series of Lost.

I don't think USA audience's are going to be less or more intelligent than british. But I am liking the fact they are doing it how it is, it has had more happening in the first episode than a lot of shows have in the their first season TBH.

Elvisfan, I think your signature breaks the rules... it's only 1 line of text + image I believe.
 
Wow really enjoyed last nights. The ending freaked me out a little, oh and those 'dolls' were creepy!

Definatly going to watch this!
