To be fair the Flint 4 is a really solid bit of hardware. I'm very pleased with my purchase. Having said that it is expensive so you might want to do some research into cheaper options.Toob 2300mb upgrade booked for next month. Need to buy a £60 2.5Gb switch to make the most of it, but fell down a rabbit hole and now looking at spending £500+ on a Flint 4 for downstairs and a Flint 3 for upstairs...
Typical!
I did - a £60 Yuanley 2.5Gb switch will give me 90% of what I'm aiming for...To be fair the Flint 4 is a really solid bit of hardware. I'm very pleased with my purchase. Having said that it is expensive so you might want to do some research into cheaper options.

I've been tempted by it but it's just a bit too rich for my use case at the moment.

True there are cheaper options out there but I've managed to decommission a raspberry pi that was running PiHole with Adguard which is included on the router itself so that is also a nice little perk. Also the Wifi is better than my old router. That's handy, but there are also far cheaper devices that would have done that for you for a couple of weeks.
I'm too ignorant of networking stuff to buy anything other than unmanaged. I suspect much of the Flint's capabilities will be wasted on me, but I'm looking forward to exploring. I also have a lifetime Windscribe Pro VPN account, which I understand will work well with the router.Ah sorry, I may be late is it a managed switch ?
I got a cheap sodola one which is managed so can set up vlans and get get the ont plugged directly to it
