Hi all,
I recently sold my Nikon d60 through ebay, had pictures of everything included Link to listing

And now the guy wants a full refund as there is no manual included - wtf?
I am really wary of giving him a refund as he has bought about 3 other d60's in the past month on eBay and reckon he is trying to pull some kind of scam.

I offered him a fiver back, or told him to raise a case against me, what you reckon will happen?

Also, I hate eBay.

Tell him to do one. It's not pictured or listed so why should he expect it? Or download a PDF of the manual and print it off and post it to him. Don't refund him!

Ignore him. Don't even get involved with a conversation.

As above I hope you've taken a photo of the serial number before you sent it to him.

Cool, it's not just me thinking he has no right to complain then?
Unfortunately didn't make a note of the serial number though :-/

Just got in contact with the company I bought it off a month ago though, see if they made a record of it, otherwise I am a bit screwed if it goes through the dispute center as a refund :-/

Cheers for advice and support!

Get them to send it back. It will be at their own cost.

Let's see if they will be willing to spend £10 or whatever over a manual.

No, do NOT do this.
It's very easy to substitute a broken camera and claim it was the OPs, especially as he didn't note down the serial number.

Do NOT refund !!! Did it state you offered a refund in the listing ? If not then he hasnt a leg to stand on .... eBay will laugh at him if he takes it to dispute. Sounds like he has either taken parts from it, used it now doesnt need it or swapped it for a fake/ broken one ...

Once again, ive been through disputes like this in the past on eBay and believe you me they are on the sellers side rather than the buyers :)

This. It will go your way. Don't worry about negative feedback, ebay will remove it for you.

As above, do NOT tell them to send it back unless you've got a record of the original serial number.

Scammers will buy working goods, like a camera, and then substitute it for their broken one and send it back to the seller for a refund. Obviously if you've got a record of the serial number this scam isn't possible.

Ok to the OP under no circumstances offer a refund of ANY description to this person.

I have looked at your listing and nowhere did you state it came supplied with the manual. So in regards to ebay if he lists a case your ok as you sold the item as described.

Before the end of the auction did he ask if the manual was included, I assume not, end of.

If ebay question why you offered the fiver (which you shouldn't have done) it was a good will gesture on your part.

Cool, thanks for the extra info, feeling more confident about this now, haven't heard off him since the "fiver or ebay dispute" mail I sent him.

It was a good idea Westyfield, but I just checked and no serial number in data, so will hope that the company I bought it off kept a record, and I know I am safe whatever happens then.

Wouldn't be too bothered, but I have already spent the money on bicycle parts! haha

have you got the high res versions of the pics you used in the listing as you may find the serial number on the paper work you have in the 2nd picture

also what is their ebay user id?

Interesting he's citing lack of manual as a reason to return.

I think he's trying to avoid filing a claim on PayPal (probably because he's done it too many times before), and hopes you will entertain his refund.

Ignore it all the way. Even if PayPal debit your account, don't pay, you can easily take this infront of a court for a judge to settle in your favour.
