*FLOODED BATH, CEILING ABOUT TO COLLAPSE*

This thread has an impressive post/view count so far!

Assuming the plaster doesn't collapse.... when you come to repaint the ceiling make sure it is fully dry then apply a solvent based stain block first. Otherwise you'll end up with water stains coming through no matter how many coats of emulsion you put on.

Can believe no one has mentioned a hoover/some other type of suction device. Could try snapping off the tap or something along those lines, so you can blame the landlord and not have to pay for a new bathroom, kitchen n whatever else!

Open an andy@mofo water fun land! charge £1 to see the amazing bulgy ceiling and soggy rafters

could use the money you make to buy a new roof:D

Christ on a cross can't some of you people even wipe your arses without asking GD?

Hint: When it comes to the list of "things to do when your bathroom is flooded and you think that your ceiling is going to collapse", posting on OcUK ranks really really low.

The very first thing you should do is format your hard drive.

Seriously, get some sheets down and anything that will catch water and put some holes in your ceiling.
Chances are your ceiling is wrecked so minimise what other damage it will cause.
Get up whatever floorboards you can to try and dry whatever you can.
Earlier this year we were lucky but it still took a week to dry out the carpets on the lower floor.
Luckily the burst pipe was right by the wall and seeped down the inside of the wall.

Charge £5 each person, see who makes is collapse first. Lucky one gets to have a fantastic water ride..death.

Preheat your oven to 170c

2oz Soft margarine
2oz Caster sugar
2oz Self-raising flour, sieved.
1 Egg
A splash of milk

Mix together place in a greased tin and bake for around 20 minutes.

This is a basic sponge recipe, hope it helps :)

You need a bit off vanilla in there, regardless of what flavour you go for. It's like salt when making cakes.

If you didn't know what the hell to do, it isn't that much of a bad idea...
