Floppy Drive keeps beeping

Hey, i've just installed my new x1950 pro and everything is fine except for my floppy drive keeps doing that beeping thing. The light goes green every few seconsd, makes its sound, then stops.

I'll disconnect it if I can't find a solution but i'm thinking this might be something to do with power.

What do you guys think?

I had that once from some AV software. Is it doing a scan? Is it Norton? :eek:

Norton Anti-Virus has had this problem for years! You can turn off scan floppy drive/removable devices on boot/shutdown but it is one of those problems that doesn't seem to always occur. no one seems to have the answer to it and there is more than one cause posted on forums. :confused:

you've got the ribbon cable in the wrong way round

If the ribbon was in backwards, most floppy drives just light up solid, they dont start/stop/start/stop.

it could be either ive had both problems.. the best fix is take it out u only need them for sata drivers ect now
