FluidMark 1.0.0 physics benchmark released

that cant be right? surely the agiea dedicated ppu shoudl be wiping the floor with everything on this benchmark.
As I pointed out in my post, the agiea card falls flat on its face. It gives it up after about 5-10 seconds into the bench, using the 8800m gtx instead resulted in a much higher result and fps count.

This bench is geared towards the nvidia 8-9 and gtx series cards and not ati or ppu's.

Here's my effort:-

All standard settings with latest Nvidia GPU and Physx drivers. Pretty pleased with that. :D

"236 with a PhysX card? Wow those cards really do suck dont they compared to GPU PhysX!"
Only if all you want to do is run benchmarks. The GPU might be x5 times faster in 3dmark and faster FluidMark but in games the PhysX card is faster than 1 GPU in the benchmarks we have so far.

Its very entertaining reading about all these people saying the PhysX drivers are great the games are so much faster with the GPU. Yet as little as 6 months ago people were saying the same games with the PPU where slow and the PPU slowed down the very same games. Yet in benchmarks the games with a 1 GPU and PPU show the PPU as faster.
It's also entertaining reading how people are impressed with the effects, yet the very same effects on the PPU where poor and unimpressive. Isnt it strange how the reviews change there minds. Just compare the new GRAW 2 reviews on the GPU to the old PPU reviews. Its shocking, the very same effects as well.

It just shows how bias people where being against the PPU. All this stuff on the GPU could have been done over 2 years ago with the PPU.

I'm not impressed with the effects, all you get in the UT3 maps is a tornado and some walls you can destroy, it all seems like a novelty to me, lets buy a PhysX card so we can knock down some walls in UT3 and tear some cloth and run PhysX demo's all day.

What about the speed increase on all the maps willhub? Are you happy with that?

I think the two UT3 maps are rubbish, not tried the 3rd one. But what happened to almost everyone saying PhysX is rubbish? Now it seems like a lot of people all of a sudden like it, instead of a lot not liking it.

"Why would all maps get a speed increase since they dont have PhysX stuff in "
Every single map has PhysX. Not a lot but there are physics thought all maps.

Well I get well over 100fps on all maps in UT3.....I don't think a physx card would even be noticeable.

I got about 6000 with my 9800GTX, this is with the card running @ PCI-Ex8
Just got delivery of my new stuff, will put it all together tomorrow hopefully and do a new bench and post results then.

Not me Sir, I still don't think the effects look great/real.

I am happy to get something freely on a GPU I already own not by buying a Dedi PPU, and back 2 years ago the games slowed down when you turned on PhysX.

Its a start and no doubt it's here to stay. :)

I only get 5100 marks on my sytem in sig:( Is it Vista 64?, Or is my system screwed somewhere? I get over 14500 on Vantage with the PhysX drivers.

I think it's Vista. XP scores are much higher. In fact mine is more than double yours (see a couple of posts up) when your rig should hammer mine. A quad is no advantage over a dual either it would seem.
