Fly-tipping

How much do you guys have to pay to throw general waste away ?

Here we got to pay £2.50 for each black sack of general waste

Stuff like this will just make fly-tipping 10x worse

My dad actually works at the local waste incinerator and since the rules come in of paying extra for rubble he says the amount of rubble being put into general waste bins has increased massively

Not surprised about this. In the end the costs just end up back with the council anyway so they might as well provide these services. Unfortunately most councils are staffed by jobsworths :/

Seems like everyone here knows that apart from the person who came up with that stupid idea...:(

Because they go to their boss and claim they saved X amount of money on bin collections. They probably got a bonus for it.

The fact they are now wasting 5 million more of tax payers money on cleaning up fly-tipping doesn't factor in to it, because it's probably a different budget and someone else's problem. I works like that in government and it's stupid.

Made me think of this....

I think the councils make it harder for people to dispose of their rubbish properly.

As an example, I cleaned up the garden of my parents home before I moved out, I hired a van to take the rubbish to the local tip, and it's the tip that has been used by my parents in the 29 years I've been alive, and probably years before.
So, checked the website to make sure I can go in with a hire van, and that wasn't a problem, I had the relevant documentation with me.
Went there, they were a little unsure about me going in on the first run but let me in anyway, told the guy on the gate there would be 2 or 3 trips and he seemed fine with it, went back the 2nd time and they said I couldn't use this tip I'd have to go to another one miles away, and I told him I'd been in that morning and they checked with a supervisor, and were having none of it.
I double checked there website and according to the information on the site I should have been granted access, but was refused, no idea why I didn't bother fighting it.
The criteria I needed was to be a resident of the area, which my driving liscense confirmed and to have a hire van on lease for no more than 3 days, and had the paperwork to prove, but they sent me to the tip miles away, when I got there they question why I was going there and not my local one and had to explain the other tip has sent me.

Also, people are lazy and expect everyone to clean up after them.
