Focus RS Mk1

This reminds me of a uber cool 306gti-6 video where the guy is an epic driver and is chasing the ringtaxi about on the ring.
Cant remember the time but it was very good given the traffic and in 8.xx minutes ish.
Think the car just had suspension mods too + lightened. Given that the focus has more power and an lsd I doubt a low 8minutes is out of the picture.......

BUT
there is NO WAY a focus rs mk 1 can do the ring in 7.50
The Megane RS265 holds the FWD record and it slaughted the MK2 Focus RS500 to get that record by like 8 seconds?
Posting a time of 8min 7.97sec

I can't see how a Focus RS with 212hp can beat a 275hp Megane which it self has between the new version of said Focus with 365hp
All by 18seconds?

No way.
 
On a smaller track I think a light car (how heavy are the Fords?) with 330bhp would go well, no question if it has sticky rubber and KW's but I still think a CSL would better it around Donington with comparable drivers.

I'll put some times up later...need to dig through some video footage to get them first.

Can take craner curves flat out in fourth just nudging 115mph ;)

No question though with a good driver the CSL would be a worthy match for a well suited FRS on track...certainly wouldnt be an easy overtake thats for sure.

I think mates of mine have seen close to 130mph through Craners in their CSL's, think Tax Evader can probably support that.
 
1200kgs is no weight mind so power to weight would be much the same. I can see good times, just traction being its challenge I guess.

The car the 265 beat was the previous megane r26r that had a time of 8:17, the mk2 rs had a time of 8:26. From what I recall too the RS500 wasnt much quicker than that, although cant find the source atm.

All those times of course are of the full lap, not just the btg.
 
About 1.7km shorter I.e. doesn't include the full main straight. Depends of the car but usually around 20-30s extra on top of a btg lap for a full one.
