Focus ST

Standard they do 1/4 mile in 14.3 seconds, mine was 248bhp with ecu and full exhaust and did the 1/4 in 13.8 seconds.

It ran very aggressive geo so it could have been faster in a straight line than it was.

Stock or tuned they're absolutely rubbish until you get them into 3rd gear, when you hit 3rd though they take off.

In terms of the Clio - I recall saying stock to stock the DC5 was neck and neck with a 172 untill 80mph then the Clio ran out of puff and DC5 pulled away.

Hope that helps.

Ive had a similar experience with a 182 in the ST, neck and neck upto 90-100 only after this could I pull away.

Im not really sure what the 0-60 is on the ST, Ive seen a lot of conflicting info, some say 6.3 some 6.8. As i said before the ST is quite a lazy car, fun, but for an old codger like me (**** me im only 31!), rather than someone who wants a proper toy for track days and stuff.

My mates Dreamscience'd ST is a torque monster! Know what you mean about lazy drive :)

This is why im going D-tec yo! for my next motor (new accord D), in real life driving I can make just as quick progress, I just have to keep stirring the gearbox to keep it in the powerband:(

Sounds about right as mine is about same pace as a focus ST, and Sam said the same with his 182 trophy, could keep up up to about 80 then I started getting away.

Before or after the mods? Im guessing after as IIRC you bought it when them on there.

When he first got it it was identical to my Rover Turbo at the time. They are quicker than a Focus ST and certainly quicker thana Clio

I was only repeating what he said at the time. I'd have thought it'd have been quicker than the Clio in a straight drag off the lights, surprised it takes until 80ish.

My trophy could keep up with my mates DC2 all the way to 100 and then he would pull away but only a tiny amount (my clio did have a remap filter and full exhaust inc decat tho).... The DC5 needs to be done

Unfortunately my car requires some work to the rear clam and door, i picked it up yesterday night from my dad’s place where it’s been sitting for a month and noticed the paint has bubbled up which I’m really really ****** off about. I have got a quote today to have it repaired (£1000) and i have also popped into Vauxhall and they are going to try to push it through warranty (which just won’t happen they turn everyone away on the vx220 owners club)

So i have removed the VX from sale until i can get it fixed

GRRRRR

330ci sport 53/04 ish has to be one of the better ideas if you like the M3 but are put off by the running costs. Loads of mint examples for that money. Servicing was never that pricey even at a main dealer.
