Focus stereo question

I own a Mk 2 Focus with the rectangular 6000CD stereo. If I was to obtain the correct stereo surround panel, is it possible to retrofit the new style 6000CD unit from the Mk 2 facelift?

Are you talking about the Sony 6cd unit?

They have sold them with a square surround to fit them to some galaxies etc.

So you are suggesting changing the whole centre console?

I think even if you changed the centre console fascia, there will be different mounting points behind.

Quite possibly. However, I thought I'd ask anyway in case anyone has tried something like this.

Probably better asking over on ffoc.co.uk or something, more likely to find people who have attempted or thought about it past just looking at the 2 and preferring the facelift version.

Might be worth speaking to ford and see if they did a similar thing with the stereo you want.
