Folding@home News 12th -19th Dec 2013

In other news I have just made it into the top 100 of the team :D

Congrats :D

I recently made it into the top 25, feels good. :)

Sadly my PPD will go back to zero again soon as this GPU needs RMA'ing now. Thats the third card I've managed to kill by *ahem* not changing the clocks at all *ahem* and then folding with them 24/7.

Hi all apologies for the lack of news this week, over Christmas I've moved the generator to a NAS and I believe I've corrected all the outstanding issues with it. Unfortunately though I mixed up my days when writing the cron jobs so will have to wait another 3 weeks for enough data to be present for it to work.

Dammit, another core 16 wu, dropping to 15k ppd! I never used to get them on my 6950, I've had a few on my 280x now with client type advanced on

The other day I even deleted the slot twice and I got a 16 twice again! Rather annoying dropping from ~115k to 15k! :p

The sooner they get their own forum the better, even though there has been many folk switching to mining from crunching.
I'm still crunching for biological research.

Its all interesting stuff :)

But we are trying to get a subforum organised, the dons are discussing it.

The sooner the better:)

I am mining but don't want it to disrupt the community we have here.

I can't even fold while I'm away from home my laptop has died :(

Think it wasn't up to the crunch !

Any recommendations for a lappy that can crunch a few?

LOL!

Any particular reason it has to be a laptop? You could build a cheap dedicated folder out of second hand parts (say a dual core cpu, 4gb of ram and a 7950) then use your laptop for what its designed to be used for :)
