Folding@Home News - Attention Single-Machine Crunchers

Thought I'd better post a comparison between the Q9450 and the Q6600. Both times were taken in the exact same machine, so motherboard and memory haven't affected the times.

At 2.66ghz (333x8) and running four 2065 units in VMWare, this is the difference -

Q6600 @ 2673mhz = 28 mins

Q9450 @ 2672mhz = 25.5 mins


So the Q9450 is roughly 8% or 9% faster clock for clock. Tho the 2605's don't seem to max out the Q6600's cache, so bigger gains could be seen with the 306x units.

And then there's SSE 4.1 to look forward too.

I wonder if I've actually contributed anything in that time. It has been a running process in my task manager the whole time but I don't know if it had any projects running or if it was associated with any group.

Not sure if I'm still registered for this, back after a long time away.

I'm running a dual core now, username is Pixel.
 
Last time i was folding, i had a single 3700 San Diego,

Now i'm running:
1x Q6600
1x E2200
1x 3700
1x 2500 Barton
1x P4 3.2
1x Celleron
1x PS3

And soon to come, a cluster of about 6 Cellerons at my mates work :)
 
Serves me right for following the stickie, just discovered the SMP client for my Quad... gone from 600~ ppd to 3000 lol :p

Don't forget you can run it on the E2200 as well :)

Just out of curiousity, what name are you folding under? I can't see a benjo folding for team 10 atm :p
 
Ah yes, I see it now :) You can tell something drastic has changed due to the huge leap in the graph :) Hope it works out for you benjo, and let us know if we can help you further.
 
would SMP benefit core2duo? or just quad?
just i'm folding on 3 C2D and a dual core, theres some celerons popping wu's out here and there, but I kinda forgot where they are =/
