Well, as much as I *cough* don't like being smug *cough* and really *cough* don't *cough* want to shout about it and say I told you so, I really did say that there would be no repeat of last weeks' shenanigans. Yes, I told you so. :D

:(

I've been playing a lot*

;)

Thanks for the News Rich - better late than never :D

Above 7k again so I'm a happy bunny.
But my current lack of progress with Ubuntu :o was ecliped by the easiest install ever last night on to my newly install 'spair' IDE HD.
Went on like a dream, no problems at all, web connection A-ok, booted from HD, installed all the updates (all 138!) but ran out of time before I could run finstall.
With a little luck and SB's guide I'll be SMPing with the best of you this weekend :D

Time to stomp some slackers :D

Noooo!!! You can't get SMP going yet, I've got to catch up! Especially as my graph has been upset by a rogue 587 pointer sneaking in:(

Team output up again this week - well done.
That's what it comes down to tbh. :)

Welcome new people.

I like seeing the estimates drop by more than 7 days every week, so lets keep that Rich :)

Good solid output again from me. I can't stop getting these 1760 pointers. Incredibly stable graph in sig :D

Up and running now :D - but only on one core
Don't think I missed any thing also this line of text isn't doing anything
bunzip2 < fahmon-2.1.5.src.tar.bz2 | tar xf-
odd message about 'f' being a old something or another.

Also (and this is odd) I can access OCUK via firefox - most other sites work fine, and I can post via IE...

Not sure I understand your problem... Does Firefox not work... or IE... and err.. are we talking about Ubuntu? :| im confused

Check the beginning of the guide thread... use ./finstall smp otherwise you just get a standard install.

I abandoned fahmon, failed on the scons bit even using modified builds and getting extra bits as described on pande forums:(

Bah. Production has dropped right down for me. Main PC and laptop have been *not on*. I should be back in the land of the living next week, so should be bak on 10,000 ish.

Welcome to all the new peoples!

Bah! Bloody family!

SOMEONE in my house decided they would use my PC last night instead of the laptop... since they didn't know how to use Ubuntu they restarted the computer and left it! I have only just discovered it. I have lost nearly 24 hours of folding time and will most likely miss the final deadline meaning 2 days of folding will be wasted.

:( going to have to lock my machine when I am not at home :(

Bah! to you all :p

SiriusB, may i advise:

Lock on the door
Unplug the power or turn off your screen
Tell people to fak orf if they request use of your pc
place mines around your pc so they wont be able to go near it again :p

:D well it's finally sorted (well good enough anyway)

@SB - sorry typo ment that post didn't make sence.
In VM/Ubuntu I can't view this forum or any part of OcUK  (every other site I tried was fine)
All is well via XP/IE.

@Mr. B - didn't know i was making it hard on myself :o just following the guide :D
Anyway I've droped Two shortcut to the Fahlog & unitinfo on my desktop so not really bothered with Fahmon, just for ddp's

@D as to the single core issue my stupid fault - set up VM via the 'quick' route which didn't have the 1or2 processors option. Changed it via edit but that didn't help smp to use both cores. was running at 24mins a step, but cann't remember the WU :o

Currently running a 1496 with 26mins a step, 99% load, 420Mb ram ([email protected])
How's that compare?

1496 isn't a SMP wu

meh, deadlines are slack for me tbh.

That's not what I mean - had to uninstall due to doing a restart to soon after a Ctrl+C of the client window. smpn.exe just would close via task manager on the reboot :(

all sorted now (and not planning on turning it off again either :D )
