Folding@Home Weekly Team News - 5th October 2006

With the exception of one team which has a user doing 89,000ppd skewing the average, we as a team have the highest average ppd per user of any team, 578. :)

This'll make it a nice round 10 desktops (+2 laptops) - hopefully I can stop it at that :o

Stan :)

"SOMEBODY STOP ME!"
No seriously Stan, I know the great feeling you get building up your own folding farm, and as in yours and my case, all the fears and worries of leaving it running when you are away working.
My thought for the future is to build a Kentsfield/Crossfire system to leave running whilst Im working. It would cost a pretty penny but would give high ppd and low cost running.
Good luck with your farm and its nice to see you have them all back up and running. :)

Woot, go us. On second thought, lets check Joe's claim...
(if you don't want me to rain on the parade, stop reading now :) )

Actually, having put the top 100 teams into excel, I make OcUK to have the 12th highest ppd per active user.

Code:
75	Tasmanian Dept of Education	3922
85	klfteam1 2525
50	Hewlett Packard 2404
18	ABXZone.com 2064
37	LITTLEWHITEDOG 910
76	Beefysworld.com Forums 770
8	2CPU.com Folding@Home 749
46	GruntvillE.CoM 700
78	Bleedinedge 676
77	The Genome Collective 660
28	Team ABIT 600
[B]44[/B]	[B]OcUK[/B] [B]578[/B]

Rain showers clearing.
Carry on with the parade :)

Amazing work team, just look at our trend line!!

Fold on

All i did was sort the teams using eoc by 24 hour average production and there is only one team with less users than us with and a higher 24 hour average production, and they have the user with 89,000 ppd.

So i think the statistic i found was we have a higher average ppd per user than all the teams above us.

Most of the teams on your list will have one or two users with a massive ppd skewing the average i reckon, plus they all have a lower team ppd than us.

Edit: Actually i don't think the statistic i found was anything at all. 10th is still pretty amazing tho. And i think we would be higher if you remove teams with one user with a massive ppd.

Heh, was just messing Joe, I am teh stats whore at the moment :D

Yes, they are all ridiculously skewed. The Tasmanian Dept of Education has 3 users, one of which is producing 11k a day. :/

Thinking about it, you were saying that ahead of us, there are no teams more efficient, which is very impressive.

Go team

Edit: excluding team 2CPU.com :o
