Added to the arsenal of OCUK's folding team is:

T7200 (2ghz x 2)
PS3
Q9550 @ 3.7Ghz

Not sure how many PPD this lot is worth but it cant be too bad.

:D

5,000+ I should think. Welcome. :D

Though if the statement in your signature is correct, there's a fair chance Folding will not like you. :p

PS - nice to have one of the mad Scottish watercooling/overclocking bunch here (yeah, I do recognise you). I miss one of the other members of 'that' group around these parts (I suspect you probably know who I mean).

Welcome dude, nice to have another Jock on the team :)

That quad should pump out a point or two. I'd also be interested in seeing what the T7200 does, I was thinking of getting one for my M1710.

My PC is only Folding stable :p

Thanks guys,

I only just fired up the quad. I'm running the command line version. So watch the points roll in from now on. ;)

Berserker, I just left said person a message for you. ;)

Looks like my 24/7 clocks were only 2 day folding stable :o So now I'm at a mesely 3765Mhz on the quad. :p It's quite a novelty having a PC up and running for more than 30minutes, I like it! :D

Ooh, didn't notice that was a Penryn. Add a few thousand extra PPD then. Recommend at least a pair (some say four) SMP clients to get the most out of that. :)

Welcome weescot,
I too have been wondering how a Penryn Quad would do with the SMP Client.
So far with the Linux Client there hasnt been anything to test to see if any extra cache would result in faster folding times.
If you use the Linux Client running it x4 (Highest points per day) be carefull with your overclock, Windows stable is by no means stable with the SMP Client in Linux (can be very frustrating to find a 24 hr prime stable overclock just wont cut it when running 4 Clients).
Some of the SMP Work Units can be dodgy, by that I mean some seem to stop at a certain point (frame number) if this happens the Client usually deletes the WU and downloads the same WU, if this happens three times(stopping at the same frame) it will then download a new WU. Usually reducing the overclock will not stop this from happening.
The "supervillin newbox" WUs are the most temperamental, I have reduced my overclock and run just one Client and still had this happen with these WUs, some are fine but then you just get a dodgy one and wonder if your system is stable, all fun and games and folding with a quad in Linux.
Hope your quad runs well for you, and let us know your frame times Im sure there are many of us interested in how Penryn folds.
sculptor.

PS: judging by LigerZeros output yesterday I think he's missing being in Cell 1

FAHMon installed.

I'm not sure what it all means yet but this is what FAHMon says:

Amber core on laptop will take 32hrs for 1 CPU core and 36 for the other.

Laptop is also used for web browsing and downloading.
2gig ram, Vista Home Premium. Command Line.

Amber core on Q9550 @ 3.7Ghz will take 13hrs
Gromacs core 20hrs
Srem Gromacs 24hrs (2 of with same timescales)

4 Gig ram, Vista 64 Ultimate, command line.

*Q everyone saying to go winSMP / linuxSMP*

At the moment, you've got the standard client running - to get the most out of your quad, you'll have to replace it with one / some SMP clients. See SiriusB's installation guide, here.

Hey weescott and welcome...

If you can install dual boot then definately go with Linux SMP client mate :)

... and :p to Another :)
