Foo Fighters drummer dead at 50

Really sad. First saw him playing at the Phoenix festival with Alanis sometime in the '90s. Really stood out as an incredible drummer then and that was before the Foos. Gutted!

Sounds like a heart attack. He played hard, did loads of drugs, smoked, drank. Like many rock and roll stars he shone bright but not long. Obviously twitter is full of anti vax loons blaming the vaccine

Is there evidence of this, drugs? didn't he have a wife and kids, I presume you meant in his earlier years, surely he wasn't doing drugs still, when he had a family.

Anyway sad news, R.I.P.

Lol

I think you might be a bit blind to the extend of drug use in modern society. A lot of people take drugs because they want to get away from the pressure of having a wife and kids.

Having a family or being old does not in any way mean people stop taking drugs. Some people will do less, some will stop the party life entirely. Others don’t. If he enjoyed it (I have no idea if this is drug related), then being a rock star why would he stop.

His last big heroin binge was at least a decade ago, but it put him in a coma for 2 weeks. That can't have done much for his health. He might have quietly slipped back on the honk, or perhaps he got tempted while in Columbia and took a noseful of marching powder. Or perhaps it was just a good old fashioned heart attack.

Whatever the case, 50 years is nothing, such a young age to go.

:(

One of my fave bands and one guy who along with DG always put on a superb show, loved the interaction between them.

Too young and will be sadly missed.

RIP

In that case I hope he had a massively amazing day then, as you could in Columbia.
As someone with a close friend from a Colombia, like most they get rather bored of the drug talk… This could have happened anywhere and there’s no evidence suggesting it was drugs anyway. So maybe no neeed for multiple posts suggesting that… And it’s spelled Colombia, by the way..

Thanks for the roll eyes, I made one post about it then changed it from night to day in a correction after hearing it was before a gig, so not 'multiple posts'. It was merely me saying that hoped that he left this earth having fun in a rock star fashion rather than another way.

A guy has died and left a wife and 3 kids behind - some of the comments in this thread are disgusting....

No one has a clue what caused his death but flippant comments about drugs, columbia, coke etc are bang out of order....

Indeed but generally if cause of death not mentioned when it's someone dying well before their time unlikely to be natural causes. Hopefully not the case here.
