Is that a 0-0 then?

Chelsea must be saving themselves for the United match.

That fixture still isnt confirmed of course

Everton play Chelsea in 4th round replay next weekend, and whoever's 5th round game is then played when Utd's EPL fixture with Chelsea is due (FA Cup has priority)

-edit from what I believe anyway

If anything tonight's result knocks Chelsea out of the title race , even though they have two matches in hand over Utd - they need four more wins than Utd to even draw level (and thats without Utd getting the odd point here and there)

Chelsea are in a dogfight for CL spot - I really cant see them getting anywhere close to the title

Chelsea really are playing rubbish football, stupidly slow going forwards, taking 5 touches when only one is required, very poor passing, attrocious movement, no smooth winger/fullback partnerships. Malouda is just shockingly bad, the few crosses he tries were shocking and so many times when given the perfect chance to cross or pass someone in he holds back and holds the ball up.

Ancelloti, seems like he's getting advice on subs from Wenger. Malouda was the biggest waste of space on the pitch, Anelka wasn't brilliant by any stretch of the imagination but Malouda needed to go off first.

Why do Chelsea keep persisting with systems that don't work, 4-3-3 isn't working for them, a daft 4-4(diamond with Anelka and not Lampard as the furthest forward) -2 are rubbish for them.

Why not try a 4-4-2, Malouda if you have to, Kalou, Drogba and Torres upfront and then when Torres isn't fit which will be every few games, you rotate with Anelka.

Not sure why people go on about Drogba and Torres being too similar to play together, Drogba gets loads of assists, he's generally better a bit deeper and fighting for the ball, the opposite of Torres.

Chelsea were just asking for trouble making a new system then playing it with a Torres against Liverpool, then they've changed system straight away and done it the wrong way with the wrong players.

Oh well, Spurs fans will be happy, the way Chelsea are playing they are handing Spurs 4th.

Torres will be playing in the Europa League next season at this rate, the irony would only be bettered if Liverpool keep on climbing up the table and go past them as well.

That would indeed be ironic, to leave to get champions league football and then end up not being in Europe at all, just couldn't get any more ironic than that.

Torres didn't score but he showed some really good movement and will come good soon. Luiz was fantastic, intercepting everything, getting forward, overhead kicks! :p I don't think the penalty should have been given but at least it was missed so luiz didn't feel like he'd lost us the game.

We're still lacking width and getting stuck on the edge of the area a lot... and 2 points dropped. :(

Really don't rate Terry and given that Luiz is young and looking good (had heard good things about him pre move to Chelsea) and Alex is just a better copy of Terry surely Terry isn't first choice?

Terry has been our best player this season. Honestly, people's dislike for him as a person seems to override their judgment on him as a footballer. He's still the best English centre back around and he'll be Chelsea's first choice centre back for a couple more years yet, injury-willing (though he'd probably play with a broken back!).

I think Chelsea are just having one of those season. Could be blessing in disguise as they now can concentrate on the champion league. This could be the season where they could actually win it.

Highly doubt it, they're not only struggling in anything that even resembles a tough away game but they're also looking painfully second best against any half decent team

They'll get murdered in Europe if they come up against one of the better teams, not sure how Inter are doing but Real/Jose & Barca would knock them out imo

Only because he is less frequently injured than Rio / King / Woodgate

If he can carry on at this rate - I wouldnt be surprised to see Smalling in the England (senior) 1st XI before long regularly

Its rare that any team can so consistantly struggle in a domestic league (esp one they have dominated or jointly doinated for a number of years) and yet easily win in Europe - not forgetting the chance they could always meet an EPL side in the CL....

The other thing to remember is that Chelsea cant afford to give any EPL points away (ie concerntrate on CL) - otherwise they could be really ****** next season (not so much financially, but potentially more difficult attracting top players if you arent in next seasons CL) - it could potentially be much worse for them to take the EPL more casually and concerntrate on the CL, lose out on any potential CL spot for next season and then bomb out of CL anyway (which is quite possible given their current form and position in the table)

Nope, disagree. If you take it on pure footballing ability, he's not even the best defender at Chelsea :)
