Football and the Coronavirus

It wont be postponed. If this gets postponed then clubs are going to start using it as a tactic to get time off.

Edit.

If they can get 14 players together then no postponement.

Agree. It puts them in a far better position, assuming none of them have serious complications, compared to other teams who might lose one or two important players at a time over many games.

As for whether they forfeit the match or not, Leyton Orient turned down the offer of tests in what appeared to be an effort to hide their outbreak. Unless it can be established Newcastle haven't been following COVID protocols, I can't see how it won't just be postponed if they can't field a team.

Will the game get delayed or Newcastle forfeit?

I’m sure the way Steve Bruce is carrying luck this season, it will get postponed, I read on another forum that there's no black and white numbers in the rules for it to be made to go ahead or get postponed(happy to be told otherwise), it is being reported up here that the whole first team squad is self isolating and haven’t trained since Saturday

The Football Supporters Association have put together a short, simple guide for football fans returning to football grounds.

It dispels the myth about singing being banned:

"If you have seen stories relating to a ‘ban on singing’ when fans return, you’ll be pleased to learn that this is not the case – the prohibition only relates to indoor events The guidance states: “If singing is expected to take place, spectators should be reminded of the risks. The cumulative effect of aerosol transmission means the more people involved, the higher the risk of transmission."
