Wasn't sure where to post this. But I'm watching the 'Official World Cup Films' on BT Sport just now. Currently on France 98. Looking at the various squads, you have guys like Dechamps, Klinzman, Leonardo et al (now in management) Ronaldo, Owen, (retired) and then theres Zanetti, still playing for inter! Legend!

He made 48 appearances last season across all leagues.

o.O

Henry and Trezeguet were part of the winning squad and they are still playing as well. There's a few others from other WC'98 squads still playing at the highest level i.e. knockout phase of CL (Ferdinand, Buffon etc).

You can't use a yellow card table for diving as proof when every other thread on here is all about horrendous refereeing decisions in almost every game let alone just every week.

Some of Bales were deserved, some weren't, he had more that went unpunished. Welbeck dived and didn't get a yellow card, so we know already that those tables are wrong. Players, not rightly or wrongly, only very wrongly, dive all the time, all up and down the league and the vast majority either go as penalties or get ignored by ref's. Every other game you hear the commentators saying along the lines of "surely he has to give the penalty or a card... he's done nothing about it". Because most dive's like Welbeck's get ignored by the ref, they just run off without carding. I'd honestly say it's something like 1 or 2 out of 10 dives actually get a card.

One player every year gets the media attention of being the diver, at which points ref start carding them for almost everything, dive or not.
