The big story appears to be Villa is getting sold soon and they are in advanced negotiations to do so.
Which sounds somewhat like someone with okay but not huge money sees a relegated Villa as a somewhat bargain team with a biggish stadium and support base that has potential with getting promoted and building up a team again. If the person interested had huge money they'd have done it earlier at a higher cost and avoided relegation.
Half the board resigning wouldn't be surprising if they were talking about someone buying them as new money, new people often want all new people in charge, particularly if the current lot have failed miserably.
