Football Banter Thread

I'll just add it in there because it winds me up so much. Giroud wasting time/faking injury, he does that finger flicking thing that kids for some reason thought was cool in say the early 90's maybe. He's rolling around on the floor flinging his finger about... it makes me laugh, but also want to punch him in the face.

:D DM that has to be one your best posts i have read for a very long time lol.

Oh dont get him started:o..wonder how Eboue is doing over at Galatasaray these days.

Just saying! Judges a player's coolness, openly supports Eboue. :p

On Arsene Wenger: "He is a specialist in failure." "Eight years without a trophy is a failure, I wouldn't want to come back to London."

shots fired lol :D

Wenger may have longevity when it comes to failure but he's not the one that failed with the costliest squad in the history of football.

Good old Arsenal fans getting their classy knickers in a twist.
It's ok for Wenger to say that JM has a fear to fail but when he responds in kind they start crying :p

Nope, Mourinho is bang on, and Mourinho doesn't have a fear to fail. He's playing mind games and attempting to ease the pressure off his players.

In any sport, extreme pressure and targets usually reduce the effectiveness of how people play. Though other players can thrive on such targets and pressure.

Ultimately in public he's playing down the pressure on the players, in private, who knows. What he's doing is clear as day though and commenting on it just sucks Wenger into an argument. Wenger looks like he's saying he can win but thinks Chelsea will and doesn't want to lose to a team who claimed they weren't in it.

Fact is, no other team in world football and in most sports would have kept Wenger on past 3-4 years ago. We are the least successful team in europe above say 100mil in wage bracket, which is many teams and all of them have won things, most multiple titles, including Liverpool.

Many many teams on way below the 100mil bracket have also won titles, but not a one apart from Arsenal haven't won something above that bracket.

In a single year, anyone can win, anyone can have a great run in a cup competition and get a title, but year on year competitiveness comes from squad depth and money spent. If we'd been insanely unlucky, made it to 5 finals and won none, that would be one thing. But we've not looked like winning any titles in the majority of seasons, we got to one title and got beaten by a rubbish team. It's pathetic.
