What's insane about it?

The exposure that Etihad are getting is incredible and it's a deal that's not just shirt sponsorship, it doesn't seem like bad value too me. When you consider that at the moment our current deal including stadium etc is overshadowed by some team's shirt sponsor, you can argue all you like if City are a 'big' team and if they deserve a deal like that report speculates. However, the fact is that City are now one of the biggest club's in the premier league, with some of the best players and we are consistently shown off everywhere for premier league advertising.

Besides compare it to the deals that PSG have in place for example which is insane considering the only big exposure that their sponsors get is in the CL. Ligue 1 isn't massively popular across Europe never mind globally.

Having AON sponsor utds training ground for something like 20m is insane considering there is almost no coverage of it or mention of it.

What are AON paying for?

How come, when you take away City's kit manufacturing deal, the rest of City's commercial revenue is mostly from the UAE? Why aren't completely independent companies sponsoring City in big money deals?

Yes City are bigger than they were but not even you can deny that City wouldn't be getting anything like the commercial income without overinflated deals with (direct or indirect) related parties.

Well we get more money from those companies so why not use them? aabar and so on are willing to pay us over the odds, makes 0 sense to not do deals with them.

I know it's dodgy as hell but if UEFA are happy to sign off on it then

that was a few weeks ago but still very stupid. football players can't go skiing and i'm pretty sure sparring is not allowed either. moron.

You claimed the Etihad deal wasn't bad value but you're now saying these UAE companies are paying over the odds. Which is it?

And whether you get big money from these UAE companies it doesn't stop you signing big agreements with unrelated companies too. City are unable to sign comparable deals to that of the biggest clubs though, unless these deals come from the UAE of course.
