He has a thin squad, has had loads of injuries and has his top players poached every season. Its amazing he has done what he has with the resources and restrictions he has had.

I would hate to see him at city and i cant imagine they are the kind of club he would go to but perhaps I'm wrong. I would like to see him take a year or two off then come to united.

Potentially City and Liverpool could be after him though.

He's had the squad long enough to stop it being so thin. The majority of the players that have been injured are always injured...He's just been poor this season

Not Real? Not title and no CL and Real might be looking for a new manager again.

This is more like a big public statement I'd expect Real to be demanding to firm up their plans for next year. City is obviously an option though, but so are other teams. Arsenal could be getting ready to make a change. Crap in the CL and honestly even if by some fluke Wenger won it this year... if I was Wenger I would see that as a fitting way to call it time on his time at Arsenal, better to leave after the title than win one, then lose the next year then quit, or the more likely scenario of Arsenal finishing 10+ points behind , maybe behind Utd or even City(still plenty of time for that) and Wenger and/or the board thinking it's time for Wenger to go anyway.

Still rooting for Wenger I see :p

I remember him from Football Manager. For years he was one of a bunch of players in the Arsenal reserves who were impossible to get rid until their contracts ran out. Diaby, Denilson, Bendtner, Squillaci, Chamakh, Traore, etc.

Sheffield Wednesday are delighted to announce the key appointments of two advisors to the club’s chairman, Mr Dejphon Chansiri.

Vastly experienced duo Adam Pearson and Glenn Roeder will form two parts of what is effectively a three-man sporting director by committee alongside head coach Stuart Gray.

The committee will evolve and potentially expand on an ongoing basis.

Pearson and Roeder, who bring a wealth of football expertise both on and off the field, begin their roles at Hillsborough with immediate effect.

Pearson is the former owner and chairman of Hull City – with whom he was chairman while the Tigers made their bow in the Premier League - and Derby County, whilst also having served on the board of Leeds United.

In addition, he has held a range of senior executive positions in football and the wider sporting community.

Pearson will advise the Owls’ chairman on business-related strategies across all areas of Hillsborough.

Roeder, meanwhile, will focus specifically on the football side of the operation, drawing on an impressive pedigree initially as a player with the likes of QPR, Newcastle United and Watford.

Roeder made a total of 561 appearances before moving into management, initially as player/manager at Gillingham before graduating to the second tier with Watford.

The Premier League duly followed, where he managed Newcastle United and West Ham United. Roeder also led Norwich City in the Championship.

The double appointment complements Mr. Chansiri's philosophy of sustainable ownership, with the achievement of full potential on opportunities for the club in the short, medium and long term.

He told swfc.co.uk: “Adam and Glenn are seasoned football professionals and I am delighted they are joining us on this exciting journey, which we all intend will lead to the Premier League.

“To achieve that ambition, it is imperative for the prosperity of our club that anyone I introduce is of absolutely the right football calibre and both Adam and Glenn meet this requirement.

“They will work alongside our head coach Stuart Gray having been carefully selected to focus on a clearly defined scope of responsibility deemed vital to the club’s interests and future successes, on and off the pitch.

“I would like to officially welcome Adam and Glenn to Sheffield Wednesday.”

Fingers crossed this works out. I know Mr Chansiri is very keen on a return to the Premier League.

Really pleased for Roeder. Wasn't the greatest manager at West Ham but an outstanding coach. Would not have been upset to see him returnm to run our Acadamey when Tony Carr retired.

He is a very honest man with a lot of integrity. Lets just make sure the Owls keep the Vultures (Sheffield United) below them.

Pearson, I think, was responsible / involved in for the change in fortune of both Derby and Hull recently which is good news.

I cannot say I know much about him though, nor Roeder. Roeder, I have read, has little ambition of going back in to Management and is focused on a coaching / director of football type role.

I hope they are both successful though :).
