They're the same as all groups seeking equality, as soon as they get what they want the goalposts change and they want more.

Yup, problem is you have maybe genuinely underprivileged group and they gather together to try and get what is fair. Amongst them there is a leader, this leader gains power, people look up to them or they get a job doing it(union leader, head of some equality group, etc). When they get equality... there are two options, stop the group meaning losing your position of power and a job or you come up with a random new target.

It's why so many equality groups go after the most ridiculous things claiming racism or sexism. You've got ultra feminists just wanting completely unfair conditions now because they basically achieved equality and now want everything to favour women(when many more situations in life favour women over men in an inherently sexist way, divorce/child custody/physical abuse, general attitudes).

Effectively power corrupts, even if someone doesn't want power, but steps up to do the right thing, people given power very rarely want to give it up.

Has anyone seen the PFA team of the year? Why on earth is Cahill in the team? He's not had a great season, and for him to be there ahead of Fonte, Skrtel, Koscielny, even Jones, is ridiculous. Also, Coutinho has been excellent for parts of the season but hasn't been consistent. Got to be Fabregas instead of him surely?

On Coutinho, he certainly doesn't have the stats but then he relies massively on the others around him not being static turds, which over 50% of the games this season they have leading to him not having very much to be able to do. That said he doesn't deserve team of the year, maybe had he been in a competent team.

Couldn't comment on Cahill's season as a whole, had a few bad moments when I've watched him but that's rarely as they're pretty garbage to watch.

Apparently we're very close to signing Gundogan for £21.5m (this has all come from Germany):

Now, the obvious issue here is his injury, back injuries can crop up again and provide long term issues. When fit he's a great player, but it's risky.

BD has completely denied Utd have even spoken to them about him so Im not sure how accurate that is (although there are reasons why they would deny it at this point also, admittedly)

The recent major back injury is a huge risk, but if true at that kind of cost its worth taking a gamble and hope he isn't another Hargreaves (a dm coming from Germany for a similar kind of cost)

It seems like only yesterday that United fans were accusing Chelsea and City of buying their way to trophies, how quickly things change. :p

Chelsea have spent around £500m on players over the last five years - Utd aren't even close to that level of spending (even if Utd spend another £150m + this summer it will be close ish before anything Chelsea spend comes into account)

Why have you chosen the last 5 years spending, just because it fits your point?
Let's go with the last 3 years instead.
