Football Bets

I very rarely actually gamble but was bored whilst looking for arbs at weekend so stuck a couple of quid on an accumulator. Ajax, Arsenal, Barcelona, Celtic, Chelsea, Lyon, Rapid Vienna, Utrecht all to win and all at low odds individually but combined @ 5.47 for a massive profit of £8.94 :)

I forgot I'd stuck a quid on William Hill's special accum. of Chelsea to win with a handicap of -3, Man City to win and Andy Carroll to score at any time. 40-1 :)

Tonight could be a very good night for me...CSKA have just scored in the 89th min after going 1-0 down to lead 1-2. Hopefully my luck continues with the Carling Cup games... ;) :D

Hmm, dodgy one as they went into it with a 4-0 lead already.

Carling cup throws up too many surprises, but I've done a little acca for the hell of it.

Haha I know, that's why I put them in my accumulator. Little scare when I seen they were 1-0 down lol.

I can not believe Weder Bremen and Cardiff didn't win!!!

Especially Cardiff, if they would have won I would have ~£14k right now!! :(

william hill are doing a brit special

Liverpool, Celtic, Man City & Aston Villa all to win at 12 to 1.

Man City winning is a 100% cert.
Aston Villa winning is 80% cert.
Liverpool winning is a 90% cert.
Celtic winning is a 60% cert.

So basically its 12 to 1 on Celtic winning against Utrecht. I already have £10 on it, im wondering if i should stick down more? What do you guys think?

I actually think Liverpool could struggle, especially without Gerrard and Torres.

against trabonspor? or whatever you call it? they lost 3-0 at the weekend, hodgson will want to make amends, he will be going there for a win.

Liverpool (from): Reina, Johnson, Kelly, Skrtel, Carragher, Kyrgiakos, Aurelio, Cole, Spearing, Poulsen, Lucas, Pacheco, Shelvey, Babel, Kuyt, Ngog, Eccleston, Gulacsi, Hansen.

thats who he has to choose from. solid defence and keeper. lucas and poulsen should be solid too. cole and kuyt should provide some excitement. strong lineup apart from their strikers.

should be a win.

Celtic's away record in Europe is dreadful, I'd be cautious.

yes - thats why i say the bet depends on them. utrecht finished 7th in the dutch league. a league which is probably on par with the scottish league. its like chelsea playing everton away.

so the bet hinges on them, as stated above. the others are all pretty much dead certs, good strong teams playing poor ones. aston villa drew when they played away with their second team, so at home they should win so long as they play their first team or most of it.

12 to 1 odds is extremely good for this bet, man city should win at least 4-0. liverpool should win 2-0. villa also 2-0. if celtic can pull off a 1-0 then its good.

Trabzonspor played on Monday at Home to Fenerbahce and they won 3-2 :p They have played 2 and won 2.
Turkey is never an easy place to go to and get a win.

Lol. Villa are 1/5 are they? Liverpool are 1/10 away when they were only 1/3 at home are they? Celtic are 8/15 are they? :D:D

Dont usually like long term bets but Inter to win the CL at 14/1 seem solid, considering Rafa's record in Europe with far weaker squads at Liverpool and Valencia.

thats the odds as i see them in my head. therefore thinking that the odds being offered by william hill being very good.

ive never even heard of utrecht or trabonspor. so they may be good within their own leagues and offer a tough game, but i can only see the british teams going through. whether that means they can all win or not is a different matter.

if you had to bet your house on any 1 of the 4 teams to win which one would it be? man city because its practically a dead cert. thats why ive given it a 100% chance. celtic are the shakiest of the bunch therefore ive given them a 60% chance of winning away.

we will see what happens i have £10 on it, not going to put anymore down, because it is risky with celtic away.

inter has a pensioner squad full of some of the best players in the world. its still an old squad though. they wont do it, for me they would have to be a minimum of 50 to 1. how many teams have won the champions league back to back? you have to go back 20 years to 1990 when Milan done it. thats really poor odds for a long shot.
