Oooh we're too warm and snug in our warm beds to play football around christmas. Losers

Love this time of year, footy comes thick and fast

It's going to be interesting to see how we line up tomorrow. With Arbeloa still out, Rafa's going to have to decide whether Big Sami can play 2 games in 3 days or whether to bring in Darby at RB and move Carra back to cb. I've also got a feeling that Keane's going to be on the bench too; he looked shattered for the last 20 or so minutes but Rafa still left him on (bearing in mind Rafa has no problem taking players off when they're looking for their 3rd), which surely he wouldn't have done had he planned on playing him. Hopefully Torres is going to make the bench at least.

Possible 11:
------------Reina
Darby--Carra--Agger--Insua
-------Masch--Alonso
Babel------Gerrard-----Riera
------------Kuyt

edit: Babel may play up front with Kuyt on the right.

We've got a bit of a hit and miss record at home to Liverpool:

2004/05: Won 1-0 Robert
2005/06: Lost 1-3 Ameobi
2006/07: Won 2-1 Martins, Solano (pen)
2007/08: Lost 0-3
2008/09: W.. :p

I don't even wanna predict what this Arsenal side will do. At least we have Adebayor back and we're at home so hopefully he'll feature up front with RvP. We need a victory. Wonder if Eduardo will play soon.

Nasri needs a big game against Pompey, he's been really quiet these last few matches.

Well to play Portsmouth now is a bonus, if we cant beat them we are in serious trouble though!

I thought Nasri did well against Liverpool, problem is we've been so poor recently there has been little outlet further forwards and no one to cross the ball to either.

Hopefully Mr Sbragia will work his magic again....I'm going to bed now as I'm the designated driver and I've had a few sherbets tonight.

Bloody 2pm kick offs. Who dreams up these fixture lists??? I feel even more sorry for the liverpool fans trying to get to newcastle for 12 o clock. And then they will have to suffer the joke of an away end at SJP. Putting aside all rivalries I really think it's a disgrace putting the away fans on top of Mnt Everest....esp now they want £40 a throw. The everton away section isn'tmuch better either:mad: /rant

Away fans have always been in Level 7 though, just moved around a bit now.

As for unfair kick off times, we played Portsmouth at 1.30pm, bearing in mind it takes 7+ hours to get from Newcastle to Portsmouth its a bit harsh.

von is right, SJP for away fans is terrible, they used to have the whole end behind the goal at one point didn't they

I'd never go to SJP for an away game, unless I'd pay sub£20

Another Benitez **** up today. Three of our best players against Bolton (Keane, Alonso and Riera) have all been dropped to the bench. Not happy :(

Reina
Carra
Hyypiä
Agger
Insua
Lucas
Masch
Yossi
Gerrard
Babel
Kuyt

On the plus side Skrtel's on the bench and Insua gets another start.

No keane? :[ Lucas has performed pretty well in his last few games but i'm not so sure on the masch/lucas partnership in the middle so far
