I was wondering which different football grounds you've visited, which are your favourite/worst, best football experience and which is the weirdest. Mine are:

~ Brentford - Griffin Park - hundreds of times as a supporter
~ Swindon - County Ground - 3 times to watch us play away
~ Plymouth - Home Park - once to see brentford, also watched plymouth play reading, and one other
~ QPR - Loftus Road - QPR play brentford and reading. both 0-0
~ Leyton Orient - Brisbane Road - 2 away days (plus two more in the next couple of weeks!)
~ Arsenal - Emirates twice (Derby and Roma) and Highbury once about 15 years ago to see QPR
~ Exeter - St James Park - Twice for conference games
~ Spurs - White Hart Lane - Watched Spurs beat Man City in the early/mid nineties
~ Bournemouth - Dean Court - One away day
~ Brighton - Withdean - One away day
~ Barcelona - Nou Camp - versus Levia Warsaw about ten years ago in the Champions League
~ Derby - Baseball Ground - against Burnley almost twenty years ago
~ Bristol City - Ashton Gate - One away day (we won in the last minute!)
~West Ham UTD - Upton Park - once for Alvin Martin's testimonial
~Crystal Palace - Selhurst Park - Once to see them play Notts Forest
~MK Dons - The NHS - One away day
~ Charlton - The Valley - Away day last year
~The Old Wembley - Once to see Colchester play Torquay in the League Two playoff final over ten yeas ago.
~ Seattle Sounders - Qwest Field - Saw them play Colorado Rapids last year on a road trip

Best: Griffin Park, Dean Court or Loftus Road (ashamed)

Worst: National Hockey Stadium, Withdean. NHS we had a player sent off after 5 mins and stood in the rain for two hours watching us play for a 0-0 draw. Withdean I was wearing a tshirt and it hammered down - plus we were miles from the pitch

Weirdest: probably Qwest Field. We started off the day hungover and late in Vancouver, accidentally joined the wrong queue at the border (instead of the normal queue we joined the season ticket pass and skipped a three hour wait to get back into the US - the border police weren't exactly thrilled with us).

Favourite game: Brentford knocking out Sunderland in the FA cup a few years ago. A spritely DJ Campbell scoring the winner.

What about you? Been to anywhere obscure or exotic to watch a game?

(Had a search to see whether a similar thread had been started, so my apologies if this is a repeat.)

Best = Highbury, ground was amazing, for an old ground it was clean and looked like it had just been decorated, missed half of the match due getting lost, atmosphere was electric, it was Carling cup semi final 2nd leg

Worst = Deepdale, they still had that shed, game was boring 0-0 it was one of the last games Wigan played in the championship before getting promoted, for a local darby it was pants

From what I can remember:

- Pittodrie (Aberdeen) - Was a season ticket holder for around 8 years
- Glebe Park (Brechin) - Only went once
- Brockville Park (Falkirk) - Went once
- Hampden - Been here numerous times for different events not just football
- Tynecastle (Hearts) - Been there twice (once prior to 1997 when they still had bucket seats and once around 2000)

Best - Hampden
Worst - Pittodrie on a rainy winters day

Some highlights from me:
  • Anfield - many times, can vary from lifeless to excellent depending on game/opposition
  • Millenium Stadium - Charity Shield, Carling Cup Final - well designed stadium, roof on helps increase atmosphere
  • Stadium of Light - Benfica - England v Portugal Euro 2004 - great stadium, once of the best I've ever been to.
  • Attaturk - Istanbul - 05 CL Final - Nice stadium takes hours to get in/out from it but had a great atmosphere for obvious reasons.
  • San Siro Milan v someone forgettable - great atmposphere though.
  • Britannia Stadium - Eng U21 game v Portugal - nice stadium but not much of an atmosphere as England were rubbish.
  • Craven Cottage - they were rebuilding one of the stands so wasn't much of an atmposphere

From Memory;

Craven Cottage - for Fulham
The Valley - Charlton/Wimbledon games and some away games
Loftus Road - when Fulham had the ground share, and been there before for a couple of other games
Selhurst Park - Crystal Palace games with a mate, and also Wimbledon
Stamford Bridge - Fulham away games
Highbury - Fulham away, and for another game I can't remember
Nordbank Arena - lovely stadium, really nicely done..went for the Europa League final last season
White Hart Lane - went in a box years ago with my Dad's friends

Been a few others, but can't remember now..

Will aim for a few more away games soon, been harder the last couple of seasons 'cos of school/other stuff.

Anfield (Liverpool) - several times (8?) for Liverpool vs. Arsenal. It was alright, a very inner city stadium and fairly old. Reminded me of Highbury in some ways.
Goodison Park (Everton) - several times for Everton vs. Arsenal, a couple of Everton friendlies and an England U21 match. Slightly dumpier than Anfield but not that bad.
City of Manchester Stadium (Manchester City) - twice to see Man City vs. Arsenal. New stadium so pretty good.
Old Trafford (Man UTD) - once for UTD vs. Arsenal. Pretty decent, massive as well.
Reebok Stadium (Bolton) - few times over the years for Bolton vs. Arsenal. Pretty good, damn steep near the top. It's in a new retail park so I imagine it's nothing like Bolton really. :p
Ewood Park (Blackburn Rovers) - a few times for Blackburn vs. Arsenal, like Bolton a massive ****hole. Very depressing area.
JJB Stadium (Wigan) - Wigan vs. Arsenal. New stadium so again, pretty nice. Felt Wigan was a lot like Blackburn and Bolton though going to/fro the game.
Stadium of Light (Sunderland) - Sunderland vs. Arsenal. A cesspit of utter despair and poverty. I half expected kids with fat bellies when I got out of the car (which I too wasn't expecting to still be there when we returned). The stadium itself is pretty decent, again it's a newish building. Not bad
St. James Park (Newcastle) - Newcastle vs. Arsenal. Older stadium and felt like it. Best support from home fans I've been too. Quite biased to Newcastle though, love the city.
Highbury (Arsenal) - loads of Arsenal games before moving to the new stadium. Haven't managed to get to Ashburton Grove yet though.
Nou Camp (Barcelona) - not to see a match unfortunately, but it was part of the tour to see the entire complex. Utterly massive. Saw Ronaldhino training as well.
The Homelands (Ashford Town) - Ashford Town vs. Salisbury City years ago. Being that this team is very non league, I was still surprised to see it had a pretty large stand. It was on the same time as Paris St. Germain vs. Arsenal (the second leg we won 1-0)...remember that for some reason..

Pretty much all the current Premiership except Craven Cottage and JJB.

Outside, quite a few.. Notts Forest, County, The old Den, Elland Road, so on.. and dare i say it - Port Vale! FAC 4th round which Spurs lost. I remember being crammed in to an over subscribed game where the police were pushing people in to the ground rather than having them in the streets, then sending the horses into the stands to control them. A year before Hillsborough, it was an accident waiting to happen. Quite frightening really.

All before my family days.

Chelsea - London Derby
Fulham - London Derby
West Ham - London Derby
Arsenal (Emirates only)
Manchester United
Tottenham - North London Derby
Liverpool
QPR

For matches:

Dens Park - Dundee - countless matches as a supporter
McDiarmid Park - St Johnstone - numerous times as an away fan and vs Monaco
Pittodrie - Aberdeen - once as an away fan
Hampden - Scottish National - a few times for Scottish Cup semi/final
Rugby Park - Kilmarnock - once vs Falkirk
Caledonian Stadium - ICT - once vs Motherwell
Falkirk Stadium - Falkirk - once vs Kilmarnock
Starks Park - Raith Rovers - once as an away fan
Tannadice - Dundee United - numerous times as an away fan and vs Celtic
New Douglas Park - Hamilton - once as an away fan
East End Park - Dunfermline - once as an away fan
Firhill - Partick Thistle - numerous times as a home or away fan
New Broomfield - Airdrie - twice as an away fan
Somerset Park - Ayr - twice as an away fan
Station Park - Forfar - once vs Annan
Almondvale - Livingston - once as an away fan
Synot Tip Arena - Slavia Prague - once vs Boleslav

Visted but not for a match:

Nou Camp - Barcelona
St James' Park - Newcastle
Stadion Poljud - Hadjuk Split
Mercedes-Benz Arena - Stuttgart
Olympic Stadium - was Espanyol

The best atmosphere is undoubtedly the South Enclosure (Derry end) at Dens Park. Obviously this is completely biased but I wouldn't want to watch my football anywhere else.

I love grounds like Somerset and Station Park where you still have terracing. Standing at the football just feels right.

As for the stadiums I've visited it's not an original choice but the Nou Camp is spectacular.

Nou Camp but not for a match
Old Wembley for an Under 21s England match against Spain.
Villa Park a few times for matches
Worked at AFC Telford for a while also

Best though was Villa Park really good atmosphere when I went, I haven't been for a long time now though!

Eewood Park - Blackburn 1-3 Liverpool (Went as an opportunity to do some training with there coaching staff as my girlfriends dad organises that kinda stuff)

St James' Park - Newcastle 0-1 Hull (FA Cup) & a championship game last season, quite impressed with it to be honest

Old Trafford - Man United 2-0 Valencia (Pre-season friendly last season)

Wembley - Carlisle 1-4 Southampton (Impressive stadium, **** result :()

Don't go to an incredible amount of matches and I would like to go to more, but Wembley was a good day out and a great stadium, if a bit overpriced :o

Wembley, Brentford errm, play off final IIRC, long long time ago, under 21's England, England game yonks ago, can't remember who against.

Millenium stadium, Brentford LDV final :( lost, charity shield,

Highbury, loads of times, champs league, league, cup,

Emirates, league, cup, champs league, emirates tourney(first one), Brazil vs Argentina

Griffin Park , too many to remember, used to go on those half term footie courses run with brentford and you'd get a few tickets to go to games, went to loads and loads more other than those, saw Brentford vs Spurs in the cup, several Southampton preseason games as it used to be a fairly regular fixture(not sure if it still is?), saw Le Tissier and Campbell play in those games.

Been to several away Brentford fixtures but hard to remember which as its been so long, Mansfield I'm fairly sure on, probably been 10-15 away games, but last one would have been around a decade ago.

Been to games at QPR, Fulham vs Arsenal, Chelsea vs someone in the CL with a friend.

Nou camp for Barca vs Santos, was great seeing the tiny ickle stick men play about 3miles below you, I don't recommend getting tickets in the top tier, even less recommended if you get vertigo :p Left early without knowing there was penalties in the friendly, ended up wondering where everyone else was and walked down a tunnel and watched the penalties from right behind the goal at ground level, that was pretty awesome. This was in the Kluivert days at Barca.
