Football *Spoilers* 26/27/28 April

Not worth starting a thread on it as it's not yet confirmed but according to SSN, reports this evening going around that Sven has left City.

Thought something was wrong. To be fair they really havn't been good at all since xmas but it all depends on what the owner expects from them.

I just heard that too, he's being daft if Frank thinks they'll be able to get a better manager who can lure better players to the club who'll lead them to a better position in the league:/

I'd have given Sven at least another season. He's given them a decent midtable position, some good players, and occasionally entertaining football. If they could fix their consistency they'd be definite UEFA contenders, which is surely all you can ask from them.

Will Stoke or Hull be worse that Derby?
Depressingly, Stoke will probably fair better in the Prem than Hull would, because they play long-ball big-men cloggery. Hull try to pass it around, and do that quite nicely in the Champs, but without wholesale changes (and Frazier Campbell), I can see panic and nerves getting to them.

Then again, Bristol City might win the play-offs, and they'll be worse than both of them!

Clear something up for me here.

When we went to play Derby away, they were a resolute, regimented, stubborn team who seemed to be hell bent on getting something out of the game. They made it really hard for us to play, and in the end a Ronaldo goal sealed it, but only by the slimmest of margins.

Yet when Arsenal roll into town, Derby just roll over completely, with a "How many goals do you want" mentality. And it's not the first time they've done it this season either.

I swear we should get an extra accolade for winning the Premiership, because it's harder for us to do than any other team in the league.

(Excuse the rant, just wanted to get that off my chest really :))

Darren Moore.
I am struggling to think of a worse centrehalf with over 25 premiership appearances this season. He's like Titus Shambles and the Roque horror show all rolled into one, only a bit heavier.

That's happened to us a few times this season. It especially goes for goal keepers having blinding games against us and then being as good as the rest of their team against other opposition.

I don't think it's fair to say they rolled over completely, they deserved to equalise in the first half, and they weren't bad for periods of the second half either it's just that a lot of our goals came from the counter attack. When attacking "normally" they stuck plenty of men behind the ball around the box and were fairly hard going.

I saw him right on kick off and wondered what on earth a slow looking rugby player was doing on the pitch. Totally the wrong physique for football.

Well that was dull lol, we looked like we couldnt be arsed at the start and Derby looked like they might put a bit of effort in. In conclusion:

Derby are absolutely shocking at the back.
RvP is as bad as Anderton, can't be relied on at all next season.
The 2 linesmen were woeful, 3 or 4 decisions where there was at least 2 yards the other way in the offsides they gave / didnt give.
Bendtner is very frustrating.
Fabianski looks very flakey.

To be fair Derby were shocking at the back at times, there was one move where they left not one but TWO(!!) players totally unmarked on the far side, it was like they weren't playing with a rightback and the centrehalf was completely asleep. It was almost like a school match with players rushing towards the ball with no awareness of where the opposition players are. I've seen Arsenal play better and not win before!

The worrying thing is, when I watched the reserve match (5-1) between the sides, Derby's defence was even worse (letting CBs dribble right up to their penalty box unchallenged), so it's not like they have anything to bring through to the first team.
