Football *Spoilers* 8th-9th March

In all honesty I don't think there was a lot wrong with our performance - when a team throws 12 men behind the ball and gets all the luck, they're going to be hard for anyone to break down.

If rooney had taken the player down and keeper was in goal rooney would have been sent off.

So why all of a sudden you think its a travesty that keeper is sent off because rooney had run to the line

Put it this way, if it was your team, you'd be saying it was a red for Baros.

Pompey deserve to get to final and be beaten by a really harsh penalty and sending off in the last minute against BARNSLEY.

That will ******* learn the ***** for playing in such an infuriating manner.

but it isnt my team and this is football chat with banter etc.

I havent got my blinkers on like a lot of man utd fans seem to have.

Pompey played out of their skin and defended solidly, man utd had moments of inspiration but that was it just moments.

Good game for the neutral, thought we'd score eventually but it wasn't to be. Goal wouldn't have happened if Rooney used his noddle and didn't join Anderson chasing after the ball, schoolboy error, its not as if he couldn't see Anderson already going after him either.

I think we relied too much on crossing the ball today, Nani especially, rather than knocking it about more. Ronaldo didn't get in the game enough in the second half either.

Not sure why Tevez came off, should have been Scholes.

Ah well, well played pompey.

Being honest we didn't deserve the win today.

Some may call it sour grapes but I don't really give two hoots. We didn't look sharp at all today, pretty much the same after every european game. Midfield didn't turn up.

We should have had a pen and we didn't get it but there was a good 70 minutes of play to score a goal. Pompey's goal was a pen and it was sending off simple as that.

As much as you hate going out of the cup you can't argue with the result. Even if Pompey didn't look like Brazil going forward, they were worthy winners.

was no way a penalty/sending off there was minimal contact if any

man utd dominated the game but these things happen when you dont score the other team get a lucky break and score

well my take on it.

Penalty, no question.

Red Card, yer having a laugh, there were 2 players in the way of baros getting to the goal after kusazak.

However overall, we looked completely complacent a team that looked like we deserved to win rather than played to win. Scholes is a legend a true Red and has been a fantastic player for us, however he should never be picked ahead of anderson unless injury or match fitness is an issue on current form.

He simply doesnt have the legs nor the quickness needed in order to link up with our frontline anymore.

Pompey were fantastic today though, they did what they needed to do and James / Johnson / Distin and Campbell were outstanding at the back.

Nani was shocking today imo his passing and corner taking were utter *****

Hit the first man on the corners everytime and his passing was poor to say the least, i dont think we deserved to lose today just very ******* unlunky :mad:

POMPEY!!! You know it has to be done.

Anyway, it was luck today and there is no doubt about it. Pompey defended well and got lucky with a penalty and even with the sending off. Looking forward to seeing if they can make it all the way :).
