for asus striker users

There are FSB "Holes" with the Striker mate. These are FSB ranges that simply won't work no matter what.

Try the same settings but with 1800FSB X 8

:D

Vcore Voltage: 1.575
Memory Voltage:2.175
1.2v HT Voltage:1.65
NB Core Voltage:1.65
SB Core Voltage:1.60
CPU VTT Voltage:1.50

Try that :D

WOOT!!!!!.......17148 3DMARK06 gpu's at stock:D:D
you know your stuff m8 ill give you that;)
temps maybe a concern though,66 66 66 65 idle running 3dmark06 peaked at 82c i really think i ought to think about a water cooler:rolleyes:been running 40mins now no BSOD:D ...edit...definate improvements in crysis aswell :)checked temp log on coretemp and the temp is sitting around 72-73 accross all 4 cores whilst playing crysis. Also m8 cpu-z shows the core volrtage at 1.44v do i trust this or the reading it gives in my bios?or is that the vdroop you were talking about?if so is 1.44v an accurate reading?...edit...just ran prime95 for a little while and temps where hitting low 90's c so ive just knocked it back to 3.2ghz and gonna try and convince the little missus to let me get a watercooler :/

Nice One :D Was that at 3.6GHZ by the way? (1800 X 8)

Yeah 1.45V ish will be about right - these boards suffer from MASSIVE VDroop.

Temps are high and, in all honesty, I would be an arse to recommend you running it like that for any length of time. It will be fine like that ONLY to run the odd benchmark to post on a scoreboard now and then (Speaking of which - get on this: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17821009&highlight=crysis+dx9 You should kick some ass on that leaderboard mate :D)

The Q6600 has a built in thermal threshold of 100 degrees which means, in laymans terms, when you hit 100 degrees it will simply "Shut Off".

Under watercooling, mine hits around 77 ish under serious load so water does help.

Kits I'd recommend:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-028-SW&groupid=701&catid=193&subcat=1038

Reasonably priced and upgradable. Many of the serious clockers and watercooling nuts on these forums may suggest you go for something fancier but this kit is an excellent place to start if you are new to water cooling. (Not trying to call you a noob or anything but water cooling is a fine art requiring skill and patience and a kit like this is ideal if you are new to it or. quite rightly, nervous abot filling a box full of expensive electronics with tubes full of water) :)

Also, try this to tweak a bit more out of your GFX cards:

18K + shouldn't be a problem in 3DMark Now :D

Keep us posted mate.

LOL :D Just don't tell her!!!

More importantly, why didn't you try the 3.6GHZ you BIG JESSE :D... Won't be much hotter at the same voltages.

Anyway mate, not a bad turn around in 24 hours is it? :) I'll keep an eye on this thread over the next couple of weeks and I'll be on hand to help!

You checked the Crysis benchmark thread yet?

lol :D wouldnt boot at all at 3.6ghz settings so just went with the origianal settings, gonna check out that gpu tweaking first then ill look into the crysis benchmark:)saying that though i dont think i tried 3.6ghz with the higher voltages:rolleyes:when i get around to the crysis bench ill let you know;)

i should if looked around before buying this motherboard trying to get it to get past 1400 my self (trying the settings now posted)

Queston why does the Cmos clear button Not work i have to remove the bat as the jumper does not work as well

little still anoying still if i lower the FSB from 1800 i get no boot

not sure if i need more motherboard volts, even thought 1.65 seems high to me Temp on chip set is 60c not sure what is high for that (i used one of the probes that come with the striker)

if i use prime 95 it hard locks windows or folding@home (takes a lot longer on fah to hard lock) i cant lower the cpu clock as the mobo does not post

Sig updateing....

My striker is the same.Wont boot with any fsb over 360 but will boot fine with the 450 setting that andy showed.Thats one big hole is the fsb.Im waiting to see how the new striker 780 is going to perform.

well that was an not so hot idea updated to 1401 bios ended up with an Hard rebooting loop at post

i still cant clear the cmos with the button i have to remove the bat

will no longer work at 450fsb
