Forceware 160.03

Ahh they started their final push to stave of the defection to ATi, and the final push to get ppl buying their 8's now and not wait this final week, i had a feeling we would get some drivers this week like, im expecting hundreds of sets now before Monday, the final push has begun, as long as they are as good as the 158.22's or better im not complaining. :D

Yeah they do, its just a pity its took them 6 months to start supporting their cards, and to only do it as they know their competitors card is only a week away, and everyones waiting on it as everyones lost confidence in their zero support, and a lot off ppl will be dumping their 8800's for them. :)

Those 165.01's are ancient btw. :D

Why put their self out on a limb when the is zero competion anyway, there has only been one card for the last 6 months and its been the 8800, might no be the right way to do things but hey its business

I myself have had no real problems with mine, but i am patient and had realistic expectations on what to expect from moving to Vista, 8800 and Nvidia. Most expected too much too soon,

Its good that ATI are bringing at least something to the table, especially for us. But i wouldnt be too cocky until we see some real benchmarks, then see how the ATI cards perform in the wild, game patches and catalyst updates will come just as quickly

No one gets drivers/software 100% correct at first time of asking

Why put themselves out on a limb ?, they've had over 6 months to really take it to ATi, they brought out a fantastic card in the 8 series, and have had no competiton for 6 months!!! they have really blown a fantastic opportunity, they should have started supporting these cards 6 months ago, but no they blew it, now a lot of ppl have lost confidence in them, a lot of ppl are not buying their 8 series cards through no support, they are all awaiting ATi's cards coming out, lots of ppl with an 8 series will be dumping them through no support and getting an ATi card when they release on Monday as they know ATi do proper driver support, they release a full official set for all their cards every month for both XP and Vista and Nvidia know it, thats why they are now in panic mode and slinging drivers out on the hr in their droves. :)

Im not complaing though, as if it wasn't for ATi we would still not be getting any drivers, we have them to thank, can you imagine if there was no ATi, Nvidia would never release any drivers at all then, thank god they have got some competition is all i'll say.

Are you sure you haven't got a faulty 8800 card....as i haven't run into any problems with my 8800gtx yet....
And you seem to posting much more about having lots of problems with your 8800 card then anyone else seems to be..

Im not having any problems now, i never said anywhere there that i was, im using the 158.22's and they are working fine, but who knows how they'll run games down the line that are not out yet, as as i said they are only showing support now as their rivals card is a week away, im on about their lack of support for 6 months, and why they are only showing it now, as a lot of ppl have lost confidence in them etc... and with their rivals card only a week away.

They need to stop ppl waiting this last week for it and to buy an 8 series, and try to change the minds of ppl who are gong to dump their 8 series cards for these new cards from ATi next week, they have to stop it now as once those cards are out it wont matter, their best chance is now before they are out, thats why they released more drivers in 2x days a couple of weeks back than they had done in over 5 months as its their best chance, before those cards go on sale, its no use waiting till after those cards are on sale before starting to sling drivers out and showing support as those cards will be getting bought then, afterwards is to late. :)

Ran 3d05, normal settings (quality mode in driver settings too..nothing turned down for benching..)

From sig score, to 16924.. not too bad. Gunna run again in performance mode...i wanna crack 17k lol.

Edit: okay performance did nothing.. no difference at all. re-ran tests and score has gone down to 16.8k with no changes..weird

Are you high?

So which are the best nvidia drivers for my 7950GX2 (win xp 32bits)? I am still using an ancient version of them (the WHQL from the website)

Cheers, :)

They might not last long if those HD2900 are not that expensive (£220). I might get one of those to replace my 7950GX2 :D

I've installed these but tbh I don't give a damn about gaming speed anymore because the 8800gts i have runs them fine at 1680x1050 - What I want is god-damned SCALING to work jesus.

Im debating wether to try these or not, depends if theres much difference over the 158.22's im using, i suppose they should have newer fixes though, hmm.

... and thats one of my points as to why they shoud have supported these cards 6 months ago when they were released, they could have fixed that scaling issue months ago if they did, but seen as they aint been doing drivers, they aint.

It still dosn't work, LOL.

I swear if the next release is BETA and has no scaling fixed and doesn't break Quicktime (quicktimeh264.qtx) then I will sell this card and get an ATI, this is not on at all.

This error:

q264.jpg

It happens in any browser and in standalone quicktime player, I use quicktime ALT and it plays fine using the ffdshow decoders in WMP/MPC. It only breaks the quicktime component in quicktimes directdraw renderer
