OT I think ive just worked out who that is in your sig, is it that Fatality kid. :D
Way before Zalman, Creative or Abit got his grubby face/hands on his brand. PS Before I have to wait another year the dotted word is 'gibbed' ;)

Anyway back OT - what are these drivers like in newer, more demanding games?

In TDU, AA didnt seem to work, and AF seemed to have little or no affect compared to 158.22...FP scaling did actually seem to work (i dont use it to be honest so i dont know 100% what its meant to do...but on my 1280x1024 monitor, when i went on a 1024x768 game, it seemed to scale down the aspec ratio, making big black bars at the top and bottom of the screen..)

FPS was same as always on these drivers on tdu, not had time to test other games

Where is the all proof that the ATI drivers work so flawlessly with the new cards?

Dont have any problems at all?

Not a single official benchmark from a reputable source but hey we know for sure it will play play a quicktime video and wont stutter in STALKER, quick sell your GTX while you can.................. :o

There isnt - I think its just the fact that ATI used to be renowned for bad drivers years ago, got their act together, listened to the consumer and the drivers released now are the product.

Monthly updated, with good support and feedback. No-ones saying they are perfect (far from it in some games i.e. OGL stuff a while back), but its come to a point that you know an issue will be fixed if not the next revision but within 2/3. Considering its monthly, the support and fixes are predictable which leads to overall confidence.

Unfortunately the same definitely cant be said of nVidia lately (ever since the 6 series it seems, or more specifically when SLI came out) who seems to only update drivers because a new product has come out (their own or a competitors) or just overwhelming pressure from the community to fix a long-term bug (smoke bug in CS:S?)...

Coming back to your original question a GFX card is only as good as its drivers and when you know one supports their cards better than the other independent on how good the initial drivers are, you will always be swayed by that better support in a future purchase...

Ran 3d05, normal settings (quality mode in driver settings too..nothing turned down for benching..)

From sig score, to 16924.. not too bad. Gunna run again in performance mode...i wanna crack 17k lol.

Edit: okay performance did nothing.. no difference at all. re-ran tests and score has gone down to 16.8k with no changes..weird

Reading that made me do a run in 05 and I got 19190, thats running in Vista64. Guess that aint to bad?
