I swear if the next release is BETA and has no scaling fixed and doesn't break Quicktime (quicktimeh264.qtx) then I will sell this card and get an ATI, this is not on at all.

This error:

q264.jpg

Sell it this week and grab an ATi card on Monday, the main reason i Sold up was because of this appauling driver mess, put me off NV for life.

Yeah, got to say the same, when I had my X800XL, drivers where sweet, never a problem. nVidia drivers are a mess. I hope the new HD2900 are decent cards. Their drivers makes them be +1 over nVidia.

Yeah thats not on, as i said if they did the support 6 months ago these issues could have been fixed, its bad, now ppl see what a lack of support does, if they did regular driver releases they wouldn't be as bad as they are now, as we would get regular fixes, but they don't, we've all been saying 'these are ****, blah blah blah still doesn't work' and then having to sit and wait for months and months until they decide to release another set to see if they fix our issues, but they are now getting desperate, panic slinging drivers out like theres no tomorrow on the hr as their rivals card which has full driver support every month for both XP and Vista is due out in a week, you couldn't make it up, its priceless.

Theres no way they are going to fix many of the issues they have got in a week , they should have did the support 6 months ago when the cards were released, and regular support as said, then they wouldn't be in this mess, and wouldn't need to panic sling drivers out to stop ppl going ATi when their card is out next week. :)

Arf I'm actually so annoyed that I'm laughing at this...

Now uninstalled purevideo too to install WinDVD, getting ready to rid myself of nvidia gfx...

Just think Nvidia have only got 3x official sets out for XP since last November, ATi's card is due out Monday 14th May, they will equal Nvidia's official driver releases in August, and will have overtaken em sometime in September when their 4th official set will be out, so say from 14th May, to end of September Nvidia will be passed on drivers by ATi, kinda puts it into perspective. :)

The doctor would prescribe a HD2900XT and a healthy dosage of GOOD drivers :D .

if you dont care about game performance anymore and the 97.92's do everything else you want then just stick with them instead of trying out every beta that is released

He has an 8800GTS, why would he not care about game performance

Even worse, card comes out May, Vista drivers will be equalled in June the following month 4x weeks later, they'll equal Nv's Vista tally in only 4x weeks, and leave em behind after 8x. :D

hands up who thinks its not bad. :p

Missed that, this is the thing though people are giving up on game perf and just want these simple issues solved, a £30 ATi card can correctly output TV where as a £349.99 NV card cannot, shameless really.

I do care but the fact is games run fine at the settings I run them at so the only reason I update is to have future support for newer game slike stalker which are so poorly made to start with that drivers that are optimised for them can squeeze a little bit more from them! I don't however want them to break non game related things in the process....hehe

Anyway back on topic, whats the opinions on these over the 158.22's.

Stick with them for now, theres no reason i can see that warrants the upgrade.. AA doesnt seem to work, neither does AF.. and fps seems the same.. i rolled back to .22's asap
