Forceware 171.16 is here

Fact of the matter is, we're still using old architecture, so i doubt drivers will be introducing many optimizations, just fixes and preparations for the 9800GX2.

Ohhh that new settings looks VERY interesting, anyone put it to test?

They've been there ages ago, if you had the nvttweak not just the basic coolbits, on the old nvidia drivers, you could always set that.

Anyway it helps with responsiveness of games that perform poorly, but might lose you one or 2 fps if you set it to 0....

For me even the 2 extra fps in ''godfather the game'' helped with responsiveness with my old 6800GS.

I have no idea, since the new nvidia panel I couldn't do it anymore :(.
And I don't really notice lag since I got my new card, would be usefull for perhaps my 6800GS with it's low 25-35 fps, but atm I get 65 ish fps in CoD4 ( or so, iirc xfire fps counter said that) and notice no lag at all...

It should theoratically help though, as although the option boosts fps, it decreases responsiveness, and since the nvidia default has always been 2 or 3, setting it @ zero might help when performance aint that great to start with.

Oh, can anyone that has installed em please post the release notes, pleaaaaassee :D:p.

Very interested what they do and don't want to driverclean/ reboot etc for nowt.

I just wish every driver release actually had the ~5% increase in speed some claim every time. I reckon if it was the case 7900s would be outpacing the 8800gtx on release by now :)

These drivers seem to have broken WoW when its windowed... cant make it larger which is very irritating, the screen just messes up
