Forceware X 100.30 is out

yea apparantly he scored 1000 more points in 3d mark 05 in vista.

Well if that performance increase is real and also shows in real world games then I think Vista may have just received a massive boost, PC gamers will flock to it in force.

That's to say nothing of the "benchmarking" brethren who will cut something off to get an extra 1000 3DMarks ;)

yes but thats 1000 points which you would have lost from moving from XP to vista in the first place, so no real total gains, just less of a loss from transition!

Theres a modded inf in there if you havent got a 8800.

Ive just installed it on vista with my 7900gs and at last we've got some gaming performance.
Only tried Day of Defeat Source
but
I was getting 20-40fps, now getting a constant 60fps+

Well worth installing. Go get it...
Its still not as quick as the XP driver but im sure they are working on it, and at least it now means we can game on Vista which was impossible until this driver was released.

His graphics are running FASTER in Vista apparently. No loss, gain.

So what is the reason gaming, at the moment on Vista, is below XP? Is it just purely because it's a new design and the drivers need to be "re-writen" to work properly?

I'm just curious. :)

just installed on my rig (c2d 6600 @ 3.33, 2gb ballistix, bfg 8800gtx, raptor and philips ultimate edge)

one problem so far which was the soundcard drivers that arnt vista crashing me out but i can live without that for a bit., running fast as hell just installing some stuff, steam, coh etc will let you know.

average fps in css, with everything turned up full at 1680x1050 res is 178. i think thats a bit better than when i did it in xp ?

I think a lot of people are making the assumption that things will be ugly for gamers on Vista, based on their experiance with past Windows upgrades.

I suspect its going to be the opposite with Vista. Vista and new-gen graphics cards were built with DX10 in mind. Match made in heaven. Even DX9 titles should run very well, since the old DX9 commands will be calling a much more efficient API.

Just installed Vista Ultimate, I have dual view and it recognised that my 2407's are capable of 1920 x 1200, just downloading sound driver ;)
