Hi guys, I know sam has got one on here, and if anyone else can help then great..

Basically, if i were to spend about £8k on a FRP with about 40,000 miles on the clock, what would my other expenses be?

When will the next service be due?

When are the major services?

When does the cam belt need changing?

How much are the servicing costs?

and most importantly, how much you paying for insurance sam?

The brakes on them are useless, something about having no dirt seals and need a refurb every so often.

They brake well and stop the car quick just need cleaning out every so often.

Massively expensive to buy and run.

Which would be excusable if you got proper performance but you don't - it's no faster than an ST24, as its only 150bhp.

Performance isn't everything but it must be hard to justify massive expensive on a car that isnt THAT quick.

True, but from what i've heard it handles exceptionally well.

Hardly useless though, just need a bit more care than normal calipers

My standard Puma has been fine.. no major working needed doing.. just the usual service and wheel balance etc.

Dont get me wrong they are great brakes but I couldnt live with the fact they need cleaning every so often.

Every time you change the pads. I clean normal ones anyway :p You just need to get the crap off the pistons before you push them back in, any dirt will damage the bores. Easy job with brake cleaner and an old toothbrush.

They are racing brakes, dust seals aren't used as they usually melt/burn.

Also the rear view from inside the car is very poor. Passengers will have issues in the back for leg room too.
Sorry that made me laugh, an MR2 owner bad mouthing a car for that lack of rear leg room :p

Ive been in the back of Sams Puma and I think I could sit behind one of the seats in my car and have more room. ;)

The view out of the back window is really poor though.

The front seats are ace though and are really supportive.

The huge engine difference being 15bhp :p

No, the huge difference being completely different suspension setup, racing brake system, different bodywork, etc etc.

It's just 'just' a car with another 15bhp. It was a handbuilt car made from very expensive points for...... well, what was the reason?

It wasn't anything to do with homologating the racing puma for its use on track was it?
