Format a mvne stick

What it is my nvme is filling up, and I want to format it. And reinstall the OS to get ths junk of my C drive. Will I have to put in another nvme, then put the full nvme into another to format it.

And no you can wipe the drive from the Windows boot media during the installation if you dont want to keep anything.

But why do you need to do a fresh os install just uninstall games etc that you arent using anymore.

Could also try a program called treesize free, can get it from the windows store or download it yourself

Will scan the drive and show you where all the largest Folders/files are.

Windows also has a built in disk cleanup utility that can free up a decent amount of storage depending how old your install is.
 
It’s actually a good job you only have one NVMe, I’ve got two and you have to remove the non booting one from the motherboard before installing windows on the main one. Then put it back afterwards.

Windows setup wouldn’t allow me to create new partitions on either drive when they were both installed.

I have 5 x M2 :cry:
plus 4 x 2.5 sata ssds
not sure why you couldn't do it
with both installed lets me do it with 5

but yeah can't wait for motherboards
that allow disabling individual M2 drives
in the bios like sata drives can do
can only physically get to 2 of mine because of
the watercooling loop

Dunno it was a strange one but with both in I could delete partitions but it wouldn’t let me create new ones. Had to remove the second one and put it back afterwards.

Maybe it was because they were both 4TB and it got confused.

shouldn't matter
some of mine are same size
and same make and model number too

that's computers for you though
sometimes stuff that should work doesn't
and sometimes stuff that shouldn't work does
probably why we have forums like this :cry:

yeah know that feeling well
that's why I always have several back up plans :cry:
back up images
back ups of the back ups
and so forth
if something is important to you
then multiple backup strategies is the
way to go even if it seems OTT
 
Things only get really confusing installing Windows when you have 3x2tb NVME, 1x4tb NVME, (4xSATA, 4xSAS on a hardware RAID) and 2xSATA running off motherboard, surprisingly have never had an issue reinstalling Windows, I just have to be very careful about drive selection.
