Formula Boinc 2016

That vid link don't work in the UK ;)

It's worth noting that the Distributed Computing area of OcUK is only a very small part of a much bigger and very active forum aimed primarily at supporting users of computer kit, and ultimately marketing stuff from overclockers. Many of the settings and limitations on signatures, avatars and stuff would have been determined by the admins years ago, and may well have reflected server hardware at that time. Remember graphics stuff all adds bandwidth loads too.

It may seem pretty, and can be fun, but in some cases will also be distracting, especially if one has to scroll through unwieldy sigs just to see the odd posted message.

Hardware may have been improved since the original setup, but then so have member numbers and overall activity. One offsets the other.

For a board of this size and type I for one am quite happy with the settings we have.

Hey guys I've gutted Midas now in desperation to try get it running again. Quick question which I already asked on CPU sub forum but can I run my engineering sample Xeon in my Asus X99 Sabertooth?
Asus support says it will run the 14 core 2.6Ghz version but mine aren't retail so not sure?

Also can someone recommend two small or cheap 2011-3 cpu air coolers I'm thinking to put it all back to air including the 780ti's (I kept the coolers for them)

I don't think them being ES makes any difference, I remember CaptainUnlikely saying he ran his 14 core ES chip in an x99 gigabyte board.

I used a couple of Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo's before I watercooled, they were OK, temps generally were in the high 60s under load, no GC though.

DISASTER just happened ! I flashed the BIOS with an even newer version with everything disconnected except on set of memory and cpus. I powered on the Z10 board and there was an almighty pop and smoke started pouring out from the board. Quickly pulled the plug but I'm betting my board is dead now. I'm absolutely gutted here I can't try it again like that gonna have to hope the cpu's are ok and try them in my x99.

I can't afford a new dual board now I'm redundant, gonna go away and cry for a minute :(

I just had a close look at the hardline pipe I had used for one section and its cracked ! I must have twisted the chassis carrying it downstairs and that was enough to leak some water onto the board :(

RMA it, you've nothing to lose. Asus warranty is 3 years on motherboards, contact the place where you bought it from.

I bought it from Amazon its actually the second one I had as I had to RMA first one.

Just checked Amazon, they won't accept it. It was delivered 8th Feb 2015, so I can try Asus I suppose

Edit: 5th April RMA :D

Brilliant, that was quick. I bet the water leak is a blessing in disguise, sounds like the board was knackered anyway. If you haven't ordered your air coolers yet Colin you can have my Hyper 212 Evo's, they're just laying here doing nothing.

Hey guys I ordered Be Quiet! Pure Rocks that are 2011-3 ready. They were only 25 quid each so thought that was a good deal. Flashed the board up briefly all good then it powered down safely as it didn't detect cpu fans. Can't wait to get the coolers on and get it running again, hopefully by Tues/Weds.

Have to say Asus were awesome customer service, I went via there server board support so not sure if that differs from regular support. Literally the replacement was sent the day after I sent the email and I got it the following morning. Have two weeks to return the damaged one which they collect.

Glad you got it sorted out Colin :D Any particular reason for updating the BIOS? I know 3101 did help the boot times significantly and added Broadwell-E support.

I also have a Z10PE-D8 WS on my Xeons but mine are only a lowly pair of E5-2620 V3's

Well new board is in, booted up first time then got into the Win10 install screen that it was doing when it failed. It froze and did nothing left it for 30 mins then decided to reset to go into BIOS, which it did.
On exiting the BIOS without any changes I then ended back at the dreaded Q-Code 69 which was my original issue.
Long story short I've swapped the ram around a bit and only on one cpu and now its hanging on Code 67.
I've cleared CMOS and removed RTC Battery and it did boot once back to BIOS but since then nothing! Hangs at Code 67... I'm about to go get my sledge hammer from the garage I'm absolutely raging right now.
When I calm down I will go back to it and try only one cpu and ram combos.

Sorry to hear that, I can feel the frustration :(
Know nothing about those boards but guess you have to try various single sticks of memory/CPU in various sockets without thinking a sledgehammer would help make them work :(:(
