The Buenos Aires ePrix. Jennie Gow presents coverage of the fourth round of the season, staged at the Puerto Madero Street Circuit in Argentina. This is the first time this track has been used for any motorsport event, so the drivers will have had to concentrate especially hard in practice and qualifying as they try to familiarise themselves with each of the 12 turns included in the 2.44km circuit. Brazil's Lucas di Grassi enters this meeting at the top of the drivers' championship, though each of the three previous races have all produced different winners, and no driver appears to be dominating the rest of the field. With commentary by Jack Nicholls and Dario Franchitti, and reports by Nicki Shields

•Race mode (power-saving): 150kw, equivalent to 202.5bhp
•FanBoost (race-only): Temporarily increases max power from 150kw to 180kw. (Increase of 30kw / 40.5bhp)

Series format
Practice
All events will open with a 45-minute practice session followed by a further 30-minute session, giving drivers their first experience of the circuit. They will have up to two cars available to them giving them the option to change cars should they wish. Full power (200kw / 270bhp) will be available throughout.

Qualifying
The qualifying session is a straight fight for the fastest laptime and determines the order for the day's race. The session will last 55 minutes (40 minutes track) and see drivers divided into four groups of five cars, with each group having 10 minutes to set their best time. Full power (200kw / 270bhp) will be available throughout with drivers only able to use one car. The driver setting the fastest time will be awarded three points.

ePrix
Races will begin by standing start and last for approximately one hour with drivers making one mandatory pit stop in order to change cars. Power will be restricted to 'race mode' (150kw / 202.5bhp) but for those drivers with FanBoost, the power output can be temporarily increased to 180kw / 243bhp for 5 secs per car. Points will be awarded using the standard FIA system (see Rules & Regulations) with the driver setting the fastest lap also receiving two additional points.

FanBoost
Fans can give their favourite driver an extra speed boost by voting for them prior to the race. The three drivers with the most votes will each receive a 5-second ‘power boost’ per car per driver, temporarily increasing their car’s power from 150kw to 180kw. Just click here to cast your vote. You can change your mind as many times as you want until voting closes a short time before the start of the race.

Circuit: Formula E Putrajaya ePrix
Location: Persiaran Perdana
Date: Saturday, November 22 2014
Length: 2.5km
Turns: 12

Circuit Guide

The Putrajaya Formula E race, or ePrix, takes place on November 22 and forms the second of 10 races for the inaugural 2014/2015 season. At 2.5km and featuring 12 turns, the street circuit is located just south of the Perdana Putra housing the Prime Minister's Office using much of the main high street and passing several of the city's most recognisable skyscrapers. Drivers will tackle a mixture of straights, slow to medium speed corners, a hairpin plus a tight first-corner chicane that will see them decelerating from 200kph (sixth gear) into a breaking g-force of 1.9.

It has been designed by British architect Simon Gibbons who boasts nine years' experience as a circuit planner for Formula One and more recently played a significant role in the rowing and canoeing venue for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The circuit has the full backing of Malaysia's Prime Minister Najib Razak and has been put together by the FIA, Formula E and local promoter Formula E Malaysia (FEM).

Circuit Guide
The Punta del Este Formula E race, or ePrix, takes place on December 13 2014 and forms the third of 10 races for the inaugural 2014/2015 season. At 1.1mile (2.8km) in length and featuring 20 turns, the street circuit is located along Punta del Este’s picturesque harbour - nicknamed the Monte-Carlo of South America - just south of Maldonado and is based on the track previously used for the TC2000 touring car events. Set on a beautiful beach backdrop, the tight, twisty layout uses a mix on medium straights and sharp turns, providing a challenge for the Formula E teams and drivers. The Punta del Este ePrix is the first of two races in South America alongside Buenos Aires (Round 4) on January 10, 2015.

Thought it was pretty good for first race, it needs a lot of tweaking.

Nice to see the stands full.

Circuit was rubbish, no where to overtake in the corners, far to narrow.
Nice wide straights but as the cars are so similar.

White writing on light blue back ground is not easy to read for the graphics.

Really need teams to develop own cars and not restrict updates to battery packs, hopefully rules will be tweaked for next year.

On shot cameras where nice, bit more please.
Off board cameras where all over the place, to zoomed in, not on the right cars and a fair few were out of focus.

The DJ annoyed me, are we meant to hear it as a background track or not, sometimes it was pretty loud, sometimes you couldn't hear it.

Oh and really need to decide who to support, without that it's missing that whole cheering/sad/happy thing.

And bad crash, what a Muppet.

And formula E website is down, loll

Also no put radio?

Yep, as long as fia aren't stupid and restrict technology, it will be 'Ike the golden age of f1, where times tumbled every year. As long as they learn from this season redesign tracks a bit, tweak cameras etc, and don't restrict rules to much, I will be very happy.

Also is there a way TI view post number, so I can use a jumps to link, rather than what I have in OP, that opens up the post in a new tab. I know I need to use http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?p=18623428#postXXXXXXXX

but I don't see any way to find what the xxxxxxx number is.

I won't be getting up live for it, but something to instantly turn on once awake.

It's a shame that it has been so long since the first race. I think it may lose a lot of the momentum it gained after the first race and due to pre-race marketing. Almost seems lost, particularly at 6am...

Opening yeah, next year is the real first year,
Some or hopefully most will build there own cars, more races etc.
