oops didn't realise it would cause such a ruckus. Not really going to bother emailing the shop, i was just wondering it it was a mistake.

I imagine this is the case now maybe a mod would confirm this? one of my favorite threads in recent months was 'where to find cheap DS games', which i guess would now be banned since any site selling DS games also stock xbox's.

I don't agree personally but if thats the rule then so be it :(
 
well i am back after being suspended...

:(

never been suspended before. i sure didnt mean to offend OcUK dons and spie, i certainly dont think i own the place or am above the rules....

anyway i will stick to the rules from now on (although still not sure how i broke them)

at least the forum is back open for everyone to use and enjoy again :)

If you are unsure on how you broke the rules please email me, it saves it happening again. :)

Only if you mention that they stock console gear, completely ignore and pretend that they do not and you are fine. :)

As long as OCUK don't start stocking food ;)

I also don't see why the new competitor rules should be a problem for anyone. There are pleanty of other gaming forums, all of which mention the special offers and discount deals. Usually these offers appear on these quicker too and just get reposted on OCUK anyway.

Yeah but they get blocked by my work internet subject blocker :p OcUK's nice because if the admins glance it just looks like i'm browsing IT components, which bearing in mind i work in an IT capacity isn't out of the ordinary.

Either that or someone in the central IT dept. is a member and lets it slide ;)
 
Don't see the point in people trying to argue this, you'll only get a ban. Follow the rules...... simple! If you don't like it then go somewhere else! I can totally understand why Spie doesn't want competitors mentioned. If it were my business I'd be exactly the same.
 
I have no problems with this... That said it still appears to be fine to mention Dell when Dell sell all manner of the same products as OCUK??? Just a little confused about that. :confused:
 
Dell is an odd one because they sell direct. We also sell Dell hence why they are OK.
 
I don't have any problems with the rules, they are the rules and if i don't like em it's not hard to find another forum to browse. end of.

BUT - What does annoy me is when you get people argueing with the dons & spie which could cause him to say. close the forum again? or close the forums completely?

Think of others please ;)

Don't get yourself to worked up about it, its not like you have broken the law of the land. I seem to get suspensions at a regular pace like some people get ASBO's...but maybe thats just my attitude online I don't know.

Thanks for opening up the forum again though, its the only place I come for gaming news so to me its good news :)
 
There's no need to mention these sites...you know where they are, you know how to find them so why do they have to be broadcast here anyway?

I really don't see what all the fuss is about in regards to shutting the forum. It was done to make a point. Point made, move on... This being one of the better forums imho on OcUK, I could never see it as a perminant thing.

As for links, common sense applies, it's not rocket science and hardly worth getting worked up over.
