Forum issues.

A few weeks ago I had some issues but it's been fine recently. Having said that, I have moved countries so it may have something to do with that... :p

Virgin Media 30Mb here and last 2 days same issue. If I use the HSDPA connection via my phone it's perfectly fine so that confirms it's an ISP related issue and ONLY the OcUK forums are affected, nothing else at all.

Bizarre!

Also a traceroute shows routing issues through the VM network.

ALSO! The routing issues thread on VM Forums had a post update today about.....new routing issues.

So yeah, that explains that.

I'm on 100mb VM and only OCuk is affected, so that explains it. got a link for the VM forum thread?

virgin media are denying there is an issue when speaking on the phone though they offer a solution to the issue by following the below instructions. prob a better way to do it but this is how they advised.

open chrome -> options -> under bonnet -> nework -> change proxy settings -> change LAN settings -> select use proxy server -> in the address field enter webcache.virginmedia.com -> port 8080

only issue i'm not having is i can't use xampp which is more a pain so will change it back and forth

Ah I thought I was going mad... I haven't been able to get on the trust portion of the forums all weekend which has been odd (also on VM but just the base package)

How can they deny a problem when traceroutes show that there is a problem with VM?

Lol.

My theory on this is simple. Everytime Drunkenmaster posts, the amount off banwidth he use's for 1 post will cause that delay of 20 seconds.

:D:p But I <3 DM's long explainy posts

Instead of starting another thread can somebody try this site for me please?

www.sgfl.org.uk

no joy here on BT

some people sigs and locations are fine then when the page finishes loading they all spaz out :(

Thanks, still lags but at least it now works.

Tentatively it seems to have speeded up. Time will tell, thanks.:)
