Forza 2 Demo - Feedback

Is it me or is the Wireless Steering Wheel way to sensitive on the demo?

Will we be able to adjust the settings of it in the full game.

I have tried to use it on PGR3, NFS:Carbon and also the DiRT demo and found all of them way too sensitive to be able to play using it, any ideas guys???

DIRT demo allows you to configure the wheel in every way, makes a big difference with FFB,Rumble set to max and deadzones corrected to taste.

No i havnt mate, and i reckon i will be playing FM2 a lot so may even hold off on Dirt for a while. Also go for a weeks sun in a couple of weeks so thats going to interrupt my gaming.

Gonna give DiRT a try right now, Have you tried the wheel with PGR3 or NFS:Carbon, Mr Latte?
I'm not Mr Latte but the FFB doesn't work that well on PGR3. The wheel overall still work supurbly with the game though.

Just did the same. Got 9% Quidco aswell.

Yeah I did that then cancelled. I've decided I probably wont have the skill needed to master both of these at once. I will start with Dirt then pick forza up cheaper in a few months. All of my real life friends have gone for Dirt so I will get that first. With the other games coming I dont see the time for two racing games.

I kept asking myself was I ordering forza just to have a new game to play.

The answer was yes ;)

Forza 2 has online racing, modding and painting, so people will play that until Forza 3 is released! :p

I really can't see why people are choosing DIRT over Forza 2. The demo is dull as anything and it does nothing new. I would get bored of it after a week or two..

Will be interesting to see what game people are still enjoying or playing more a month after both are released.

Probably neither on OcUK. There's some great games coming up and most will have moved onto them. I dont see how anyone will have the time to get too into both. ;) PGR3 was hugely popular til the 2nd wave of games came out.

Diehard fans only I think for forza.

I normally concentrate on one game at a time so by the time i'm bored of dirt different games will be out anyway.

I think you're right to a certain extent though I think people have their favourite 'genre' be it Driving, Rpg, Fps and then tick one of these over for quite a long time whilst still dabbling with other 'newer' games.

For me it's rpgs and as you can see Oblivion still gets a look in and my best mates into driving and I still see PGR3 being played from time to time. Forza 2 certainly has the ability to be one of those titles that runs and runs.

There's a great review from http://xbox.boomtown.net/en_uk/articles/art.view.php?id=14134.

One important thing highlighted regarding the different's between the demo and the final version is the graphics.

Here it is

"There's been a lot of nonsense talked about Forza 2's visuals and I've purposely left the subject until near the end of the review because it's such a none-issue. The fact is that FM2 is a very good looking game that runs at 60fps. I've read some nonsense reviews that complain that there's a lack of detail on the tracks if you stop and drive right up to spectators. Genius, perhaps we should in future encourage game designers to slow the frame rates down to include pointless detail that only morons who aren't playing the game properly will ever see. At racing speeds the circuits look great, with as much detail is needed for 150+ MPH. I particularly like the different ambient lighting on each track - especially the leaden skies of Silverstone.

Yes there are jaggies on show, but nowhere near the level of the demo, and in high definition especially this is a game that's a joy to behold. The detail in the car damage is particularly impressive as is the smoothness of the progress. 60 fps really does make a huge difference here.

If I was to have one criticism of the visual side of things it would be the lighting on the cars seems too dramatic. The cars start races in a very shiny state so matter what the colour appear silver on top, but due to shadows being way too deep given the apparent ambient lighting of the circuit, sides of cars often appear black. Apart from that, it's a good looking game."

I'm happy with that. :D

Pah, Lambo is easy to drive :p Try driving the R2 Corvette and the R2 Zonda. I've "mastered" the latter of these now and can pretty much do hot laps on demand without any off road excursions... Hell I'll be leading the race after the first hair-pin corner if I get a good start. It's so easy to out-brake the AI.

Best time in the Zonda is 0.50.348. That's on pad too ;)

This is all without any assists.

Just thought I'd resurrect this part of the thread, as I progress (rather slowly ;) ) from console racing noob, to 'Driving God'.

I gave the Ferrari 430 and Porsche a go this afternoon, and from this I can safely say I am a 4WD racer. The 430 was all over the place and very keen to swap ends out of every corner. Perhaps I need to soften my lead foot, but I think she's probably going to be a bit 'high maintenance' for my tastes. The Porker was unbelievable though. Fast, grips like nobodies business and made my beloved Lambo feel like it was driving on ice. Almost two more seconds were shaved off my pathetic best after two quick races.

It's just shame Porsche's don't do it for me as I'm a very shallow man who likes style, over substance. ;) I will have to upgrade the Lambo's 4WD though, if that's possible.

And I'm waiting for the full game before I fully experiment with the 'R'class cars. Even though I'm thinking that racing in the lower classes might be slightly more fun as those R's are awfully quick. :D

Call me weird, but I think the R2's are easier to drive than the A's :)

This is the first game where I've used manual gears from the get-go, and I'm loving it :D

No assists + Zonda = bliss

Well after my last post I went back to learning how to drive real wheel drive cars, and I think it's all slowly coming back. Feather it through the corners, stay off the power till it's nice and settled... and then go for it. Or just boot it if you want to go all Jeremy Clarkson. ;)

I tried out the Zonda, but found it a little lairy in places to be honest. The Porsche GT1 on the other hand drives as if it's on rails, and only goes off track if you drive the thing like a complete spanner!

But if all else fails I'll just slap on the biggest rear wing I can find and be done with it. :D

I wouldnt order that if i was you, i too was almost tempted but that site has notoriously bad delivery times and generally poor service. They also cancel your orders and dont notify you if the items you order are out of stock.
