As this is a debated point I thought I'd add my opinion to the mix.

My first impressions upon seeing the demo of this game were that the graphics were somewhat below par and worse than PGR3.... However the demo really does not do the full game justice and after putting a few hours in to the full game think the graphics are amazing... I went back to PGR3 to compare and after playing Forza for a while it looks rubbish, especially the draw distance

Well done to the developers for producing such detailed environments and keeping the action locked at 60fps... A great decision that may have alienated the graphics whores to CM:Dirt but which has surely produced a better gaming experience... As for the gameplay that gets a 10/10 too!

The full game certainly does look better than the demo. But....I've always preferred the gotham games to forza, and this new one is no exception.

Forza 2 just lacks....atmosphere. It doesn't excite me like PGR3 can.

I prefer Forza 2 so far. PGR3 is great fun, but Forza 2 is much more realistic and the cars handle better, plus I far prefer open race tracks to enclosed city tracks. The game structure is more rewarding in Forza 2 as well. Having said all that I'll still be buying PGR4 of course.

Agree about Forza 2 graphics, superb.

This worries me as I was about to go out and buy F2 because I thought PGR3 lacked atmosphere. It was a good game, but after a while it got too samey for me and I felt it had no spirit at all

Give it a go dude. I never take any notice of other peoples opinions on here when it comes to games. I always make my own mind up (without sounding harsh to you or anyone else!)

Suck it and see...you might love it!

I never played the Forza demo, may have been a blessing after reading opinions on poor graphics on it, all i know is the game proper looks fantastic to me.

I did think the grafix's could had been better but the gameplay more than makes up for it. On line is just fantasic. I'll take gameplay over grafix anyday. :)

Check out the other big Forza 2 threads here for other opinions. A big majority are loving it.

I suppose some people may think that Forza 2 will get a bit 'samey' after a while because obviously there are only a finite number of tracks etc. The huge amount of cars, variety of events and upgrade/tuning options however make this one of the least repetative racing games I have played.

Pgr 3 was very similar in that it had about 6 locales with different iterations based on them.

Sometimes F2 can look fantastic, and sometimes it just..............doesn't. I think there is more good than bad though, and Nurburgring in particular looks incredible. Just so 'rich', with stunning veiw distances, and really nice real-time soft shadows cast onto the track.

Sunset Peninsula looks very nice too, especially the infield layouts.

i love this game! bought it yeserday, only played a couple of hours but im hooked, got to level 12 yesterday, such a great looking game, and the cars handle superbly!

I have "sucked it and seen" and its pretty damn good after a couple of hours - Ive put a few comments both good and bad in the main thread so I wont repeat them here (p10 I believe ) but to my eyes its much better than PGR 3

Howeever I have a frighening feeling that I have messed up where I was on F2 as I didnt explicitly save the game - which I think shouldnt be necessary nowadays - Either a game should autosave after every race or even section (championship) or when you press the X (or PS) button it should say before or as you switch off "this file isnt save, do you wish to"

If I am wrong then please excuse this rant, I have had a x360 since Dec 05 but havent used it for so long so am not used to general usage

forza 2 graphics are not good enough for a next gen game, motorstorm and pgr3 look better
the hype has killed the game for me
Haven't seen motorstorm, but try the New York track in Forza 2. It's the same sort of environment as PGR3 but it looks miles better. It looks like it's running in a much higher resolution (which it is since PGR3 doesn't render at 720p), it's so much clearer, and the detail on the buildings is far superior. Also compare the amazing Nordschleiffe in Forza 2 with the poor version in PGR3.

This is hardly the point though, Forza 2 is a sim, PGR3 is an arcade racer. Forza 2 has far more complex simluation code running.

Also I don't know where the 'hype' you mention has come from since you've been able to see exactly what the game would look like in screenshots and movies for a considerable while now, and everyone had the chance to try the demo before buying it.
