Forza 2 latest Update and Demo Discussion Thread

Over on Forza Central theirs a small update discussing Dan Greenwalt in France showing off the game.
Nothing that interesting but i also noticed with a quick search that the setup on show below has appeared via a brief video clip on you tube.

The guy driving seems well out of his depth in what sounds like an Enzo at Laguna Seca. Pay attention to the sand that the car kicks up as it goes off, nice touch i thought.

See the jaggies on the lighting/reflections and the overhead cables. Learn to live with them.

Ive always thought the tarmac textures were excellent ever since the New York screenshot in the last thread. The skys not bad either...

Hes their next week, probably the same setup but know 100% their over to demonstrate for the first time in the UK the 3 screen setup.
 
Nice screenshots, I think I'd setup that multi screen differently. Since the central screen actually contains less info, it could be a bit niggly to setup for each individual it looks like.

The tarmac does look especially good and jaggys wont matter if your concentrating elsewhere (ie. its actually an absorbing game to play)


Can this game be run at 1080p btw?
 
To me one of the shots where he is fully on the track (time 3.15.093) the actual track in the middle distance looks terrible - but Im happy to accept that could be a camera/photo affect rather than actual in game (tyre marks look jaggy and green pit entrance just looks "off" to me

I do admit however these are small things and may only be photo effects or just something with my eyes - otherwise looks impressive (not sure the SE is worth it for three cars though....unless you can get the standard pack and upgrade to SE for a points amount or something...

still not convinced that there should be potential for uneven online games with different people locked out of races because they dont have cars to match (as they dont posess the SE version)

Pity those seats take up so much room (even a racing wheel is impractical for most as I always feel it really needs to stay set up, otherwise you spend more time getting the clamps right than actually racing) but game might actually make me turn my x360 back on for the first time in nearly a year
 
What exactly looks terrible? Honestly...some people. I was a bit annoyed about the AA thing seeing as it was promised to us - but the game still looks brilliant.

Its a bad photo in that one and you can see the vertical banding in the shot coming from the tv. As for the green pit entrance you talk about thats the interactive racing line which you can set to only appear on the corners rather than it constantly in view. Do remember Laguna Seca is a barren looking place unless you consider the graphics with lush green grass and hills in GT4 to be accurate.

I had ordered the Playseat last week but because of a mix up it got sent to another person. :confused:

Company was on the phone this morning so its being arranged to be redelivered this week. Should have it hopefully by mid week.

A1GP Race Seat White
X360 Wheel Fixing Plate
Protective Floormat
X360 Steering wheel

The seat folds in half and the frame can be compacted so when not in use it wont take up that much space. Expect a review thread when i give it a whirl and if im not too busy using it.
